The title says it all really. I've done everything so far except send in the application!

Anyone else thinking of it this autumn?
JohnS
I did mine in Bedford in 1999-2000. It's a really good course. What centre do you hope to do it at?

I've just completed mine. It was great. Think I'll be putting some of the ideas into practice for years and years. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I would love to do it in the near future but probably not this autumn, in London. I have only just started to teach about 4 months ago and just have 5 pupils but hopefully by the time the next course starts I will be able to do it

Good luck, sure you'll enjoy it.

EVERY lesson I teach is influenced by the things I learned on the CT course. clap.gif

Go you!

From all accounts it sounds like a great course, I hope you get loads out of it biggrin.gif

Good for you Andante. Will look forward to hearing how it goes!

Would you recommend the CT course before tackling the LRSM in teaching? I'm wondering if taking the CT first might help with the LRSM videos and case studies, and give me more insight for the Viva. I've done the Dip but it was a bit rushed as I was doing the MA at the same time.

Any advice would be great - thanks.

Hi BusyBee
If you have the money available I would definately recommend the CT course before the LRSM. The course is great and will certainly stimualate your thinking and give you even more confidence.

Woo! Go andante!

If I don't meet you before then, hopefully I'll meet you during the October half-term as I usually do a session for the London course!

I was going to keep quiet about doing the course and then march up to you and say, 'Hi, Cyrilla!'. I was predicting a puzzled, 'Do I know you?' followed by my saying, 'Yes, but you don't know you do.'. laugh.gif

Hi Margaret,

Apologies for my late reply. I have been chasing tax forms and filling in evidence for my step-son's uni finance and its doing my head in!! All ready to post now - relief!

Back to topic - I have had a look at the prospectus and it does look good. However, I have done various components of the CT on other courses (MMM, EPTA Ped. etc), so even though I am happy to go over sections again and improve further I need to think carefully about the cost. I am hoping to sign up for some lessons with a concert pianist in the summer to develop my playing and there is a CT mentor who lives near me who I might contact for a consultation on 'what to do next' re the LRSM. Still got to do Grade 8 theory, Practical Musicianship or the ALCM(Mus) though! Lots to think about.

Thanks again smile.gif

I'm planning to do CT ABRSM starting this Autumn. I'll be doing it in Bristol. Went to an open day last year and had some taster sessions - really good, I can't wait! Anyone else? biggrin.gif

Hi SueHM, I did the CT in Manchester and finished last June - it was a really fantastic course, I learned loads, made some really good friends and also rekindled my love of the piano with the consequense that I now have lessons with my CT mentor !
Go for it and enjoy!

I did the CT course in London in 99/00 and thoroughly recommend it because it's different (I should imagine) from the Dip, because you meet lots of like minded people and bounce ideas around, as well as tennis balls I seem to recall!! blink.gif
