Violinia
Just to let you all know I'm performing this Friday night (22 June) at the Upton-on-Severn Jazz Festival, 8.00-11.00pm (with a short break in the middle), at Venue V7, which is called the Leisure Boat House or something, I forget the exact name. blink.gif It's in the middle of the town, right by the river - a really nice place. I really hope some of you can make it - I think it's £14 for an all-day ticket or £10 just for the one concert. Come up and say hi if you're there. Oh and the band's called Hot Strings!

Oh that's a shame Sarah - I was really looking forward to seeing you....

I'm really miffed - I was looking forward to catching up sad.gif c'est la vie I guess. Do let me know if you're up around this way again - it'd be great to hear you play and fab to see you!
Violinia
Will do, Sarah. Or how about you coming down my way again!?! Anyway, there's a long summer ahead - I'm sure we can meet up somehow, somewhere - and play some jazz!

I need to do some plotting to find someone with a fiddle and a car! laugh.gif

Yes, it would be fab to come down... Will see what we can do, eh? biggrin.gif

It was wet ohmy.gif But not as wet as Glastonbury tongue.gif Thankfully I'd taken my wellies biggrin.gif

But it was a laugh watching people determined to make the best of it by trying to dance as they normally would in waterproofs and wellies laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I didn't get to see Violinia unfortunately (long story, too long to go into....) but I became a bit of a groupie to one of the bands who were brilliant - from Germany, great musicians, young, energetic, they liked the audience and we liked them smile.gif One of them got off the stage and danced with one of the audience at one point biggrin.gif They got a standing ovation from the whole audience at the end, first time I think I've ever seen that at a jazzfest, and when they put their CDs on sale at the interval, there was a stampede at every concert - I've never seen that happen before either.... People couldn't give them money fast enough blink.gif The reedsman played soprano sax as well as clarinet and alto sax so I was, erm, dead made up, as the saying goes biggrin.gif

Of course it's not everybody's taste, and some people think banjo music is not even proper music biggrin.gif, but it wouldn't do to be all the same laugh.gif
