the syllabus has just changed! and as far as i know, ther is no grade 8 book with all the pieces in, you have to buy them separatly.

yuo can use the old syllabus up until the 1st session next year, and you can start using the new syllabus also in the 1st session next year, but u cant mix the 2 syllabuses.

hope this helps

I'm not doing grade 8 anything yet but I know that you have to buy each piece separately for grade 8 violin because the board doesn't publish a book. The 2005-2007 syllabus is being published soon and you have to use those pieces from next year. You can use the old syllabus only for exams in the first session of 2005. Good luck!

look for your pieces in musicroom.com as they are a bit cheaper than other retailers. however, you can't be fussy about editions. also, try e-bay. i bought a huge box full of great violin music from there for just £30! saved me loads of money so far!
