Full Version: Sheet Music Spending Frenzy

Imaginary, sadly!

Just wondering what ludicrously extravagant things would you buy if you had a ridiculous amount of money you could blow on sheet music, given that so many of us have admitted our addiction!

I'm sure I'll think of other things, but the first thing that I thought of:

The complete Barenreiter edition for flute - all of 'em. And a nice set of shelves/drawers/whatever to keep them in.

Even though I might sometimes get other editions to play from for some things, I'd just love to have all those Bach sonatas and Mozart concerti and so on and so forth in their beautifully colour coded jackets on the lovely creamy paper... wub.gif glorious! (Though I would probably also buy the ones in other jackets too, it's just that those ones are the prettiest biggrin.gif)

How about you?

Can't think of a specific piece, but if I had a ridiculous amount of money, I'd spend it travelling round all the secondhand music shops I knew about around the country picking up whatever took my fancy biggrin.gif

If I did that every time I saw something I wanted, I'd be living on the streets with a boxful of music.

Edit: just looked up Cantolopera, gosh, that looks like fun for a good singer - is it a real orchestral backing, ie not synthesisers? Groovy biggrin.gif have fun!

The second and third Gaubert sonatas. I keep thinking that they'll come down in price if I can hang on for a few more years - he died in 1941.

My very own, hardback edition of 'The Fiddle Music of Scotland' would be first on my list wub.gif

Yep, full orchestra. I've got about 6/7 of the books now but I only know 3 of the arias laugh.gif
