Full Version: Yorkshire Late Starters Chamber Day
Forums > Viva Network > Viva Strings
cellophile
Yorkshire Late Starters Strings have been taking bookings for a workshop day playing chamber music on Saturday, August 18th and still have places for violinists following a good response from viola and cello players.

The day will consist of whole group and small ensembles with local professional tutors, some of whom are players with Opera North. Since there is often a shortage of 1st violinists on such days, we are also offering a number of places to flute players. Participants ranging in standard from Grade 1 to Grade 8 are invited to join us. Atmosphere is informal with the emphasis on enjoyment!

For more details and to enquire about making a booking, please go to our website on www.ylss.org and complete the contact form in the 'Contact us' link.

YLSS is a registered charity, number 1088105.

Just got back home after this, what a wonderful day. It's my first string quartet experience, and am now completely hooked. Didn't realise that there were others there from the forum.
Hope to go again next year . Thanks to all who made this day possible ,and for the great welcome given to a visitor from quite a long way away!

Yes, hey ho,and cue Large Viola Jokes!!!
Wasn't it a fantastic day. just need to do lots of practice. Weren't there loads of cellos? Never seen so many in one room . Lovely.

It was great to have the orchestra part and the string quartet parts, the tutors were very encouraging, and it was very much worth the drive.
See you next year???

String quartets are what playing is all about for me (in the main). It's what I wanted to do when I first started learning the violin. So glad you're hooked too!!! biggrin.gif

Yes it was brilliant. I really hope to go again next year - everyone was very friendly (especially to us visitors) and the tutors were great!
