is anyone here trying their hand at the bach double violin concerto? it's a little bit tricky i think. has anyone performed it in a concert recently? if I was to perform it in a concert, which movement do you think would be the best? the first movement is really vibrant and fast, and the second movement is slow and beautiful. how long does it take to prepare and get it up to performance standard? if anyone could reply back please, i would feel very grateful! byee!

I learnt the first movement before and felt that it was quite tough! I like the largo movement(2nd movement) but I think slower pieces are more difficult than faster ones in terms of expressions

Hi,
I am actually learning it, but i personally find 1st movement interesting, since the two parts are clearly in 'conversation' with each other. 2nd movement can't be too too slow, or it'll seem to drag on and on. 3rd movement, well, i can't play it perfectly yet,but quite fast and needs real coordination with each other.

The 1st movement is more interesting then the other 2 movements! I have performed it once. It takes me around 2 months to learn. If youare over grade 8, the double viloin concerto is not that difficult.

For a grade 6 student, it might be a little bit difficult. Grade 8 student, should be no problem.
