She was a musical humourist who did mock versions of different styles of vocal music, including a 15 minute potted version of The Ring of the Nibelungs ("Brunhilde was the only woman [Siegfried] had met who wasn't his aunt").

My wife tells me it was coloratura tenor, not bass, and Anna Russell didn't recommend the idea.
