Why does it take so long to get one of these flutes!!! I have had enough waiting for it and keep being told that they have no idea when I will receive one and that they haven't got any in the country!!!

Seriously annoyed, and feel like crying!!!

If it's an EX model you want, call Top Wind in about three days. I have one on trial from them at the moment and am planning on sending it back tomorrow...

(edit:- Topwind, not Just Flutes. I have different stuff on trial from both shops and got confused. biggrin.gif)

Good Luck with getting one. smile.gif

What did you think of it?

The problem is that I have ordered the instrument through school, and of course everything would need to be refunded to the school and then to me, but with school closed there is nothing I can do. I think I may just have to try out more flutes sad.gif

I thought it was very nice - the tone was very ''rich'' and velvety and I prefered it to the Altus and Miyazawa at the same level. I've decided to go for just upgrading my headjoint though, to a solid McLauchlan headjoint with red riser and lip plate on my Yamaha 211 which I really like. biggrin.gif

Who are the school ordering it from? Have they already bought it?

I was very lucky in that when I called Top Wind they had litrally gotten the Muramatsu in earlier that morning, I gather there are often stock issues with Muramatsu flutes.

The school are ordering it from John Packer. I don't know what to do really ...

It will be worth the wait when it does arrive. They are lovely instruments. smile.gif

The problem is, I don't have a flute at the moment! And how long should I have to wait?

Umm, that is a problem. Can your school/college/music centre lend you something in the meantime?

Nope smile.gif

I shall see if I can try out a few flutes that I didn't try before, so a Mateki, Sankyo and a Powell and see if any of them have that something that made me go for the Muramatsu

They dont keep many Muramatsu flutes in stock in the UK as it isnt that popular a brand. If you are ordering from John Packer then it is even less likely that they would have the stock as they get the stock through Topwind and Bill Lewington who distribute the flutes here.

Flute is on it's way. They have managed to find one in Germany. smile.gif
