Hi, I have a question about the mini rag from the Piano Grade 1 syllabus.

How do I repeat the piece?

There is a repeat bar, and in the end there is a coda

Do I repeat the piece first from the middle section again to the second ending and then I play to the end until the coda and then repeat to the fine or do I goto the first ending first...then play until end.....then play again till the second ending in the middle of the piece?

Not sure if I am making sense, but if anyone have any suggestions, please share.

Thanks
Alder
Don't do the repeat, go straight to the second time bar, but do the da capo al fine.

A broad rule is that repeats are always left out of exams, unless otherwise stated. An example would be the Mozart Allegro in F earlier in the book, check the notes at the bottom and one of the repeats is to be played.

Da capo and coda are always done, because they are just a shorthand to get you to the conclusion - at some point you have to reach the end! smile.gif
