Has anyone successfully done this?

I'm usually quite good, but got a hard one yesterday. Got given the letters G, F and K.

Can anyone think of a word which is G---K--K (dashed = all different letters)? Andy-p-f suggested goalkick, but then we need a word which is C*C*-----. (with the *s being the same letters). Or if goalkick is completely wrong, we need a word which is like this: #*#*----- (which has the same letter pattern at the beginning).

I know it's really hard to give help online, but I can't even get started with this one!

This is not going to be terribly helpful, but I've got a copy of Chamber's Official Scrabble Words here, and according to that, 'goalkick' is not an allowable word (I suspect it's two separate words)...

I typed in the G---K--K combination with my Scrabble Master electronic device and nothing came up...

If goalkick is right, then the other word could be cocophony...provided I've spelt it write!!!

Well, this is the same codeword which has "cheddar cheese" as one word

I think I've cracked it...goalkick, cucumber, and everything else is going ok at the moment

No help here I'm afraid.

No words match either G***K***K (not even goalkick which I believe is actually 2 words) or C*C******.

The #*#*----- is too vague to put into the search engines.

Your post had 9 letters for the C*C* word. Cucumber has 8!

They must do some very strange things to salads in the Telegraph editor's office....
