Hello,

Just found two e-mails..one from a Peter Keyon and another from Deborah Keyes!!! (Spot the musical connection!!).

Peter has a son called Paul who is abroad...blah blah blah...

Deborah has a daughter staying with in-laws who used to teach her but are moving away...

Both want the price of twelve lessons in advance etc. etc.

The usual thing. But for anyone who does not know about these things..DO NOT RESPOND!!! It's a foreign bank scam where they send a cheque, it bounces, and you get lumbered with bank charges (and in extreme cases, your account can be closed).

Beware..they're back... ph34r.gif ph34r.gif angry.gif

Yes - I had one this week after a break of several months. The name was different but the style so familiar -

"my son will be coming to stay in your country and I don't want him to be less busy and he will soon catch up blahdi blah - I have a relative who will bring him to your place each time"

I'm sometimes tempted to send a reply saying something like "you must think I was born yesterday !" ... but all that does is tell them the email is live and the address working - so it's not worth it.

Funny, after a quite few weeks I had THREE emails this morning sent via the site where my cello is advertised for sale. All obviously scams, but strange that it's all come along at once.

What's funny is that these are so obviously copy'n'paste emails. They always start: I am interested in buying your (musical instrument).

Sometimes it has (cello), sometimes they go as far as to take the brackets out so it says instrument or cello. Twice they've forgotten to paste, so once I was asked about my (frenhc horn) and once about my (paste name in here).

They always ask for any photos (there are four on the site!) and the "last price", and always ask about the condition (very well described in my advert). Of course, they're going to pay by a nice cashier cheque and they'll take care of the shipping (especially the nice young man from Hollywood who is re-building his father's studio but all his existing instrument are rusty and neglected and he needs one just like mine to start his collection going again).

Maybe it's a new flood of spammers just left school? biggrin.gif
