Phil Dixon
I run a community wind band in Northamptonshire and have been asked to play at our village fete on 27th August. Because this band has only recently been set up, we only have a few members. Therefore, I would like to invite anyone who would be interested to come and join us for the day. The music we will be playing is of quite an easy standard, so shouldn't pose a problem to you talented lot!

Timetable for the day is as follows;

10:00 Practice.
12:00 Lunch at my house.
13:00 Fete starts
17:00 Back to my house for a curry.

If you are interested, please PM me with your addresses, and I will post the music to you.

A.U.K
Sorry Cannot make it but it does sound like you will have a lot of fun and I wish you every success...

Music making and Curry...that will be a fun day...I love Village fetes, wellie throwing, wet sponge throwing, lucky dips, Home made cakes and jams, and those impossible electric mazes that you are supposed to pass a wire ring round without sounding the bell...I love every second of them...happy lazy summer days..

Hope you don't mind I took a peek at your home page and the windband...it looks like you all have a great time...wonderful pictures, you seem to have a crack squad trembling under your baton...

Good luck hope its goes well...at least the summer has finally arrived

Regards

Andrew

oh i woud have so loved to have done that, well, not the curry or lunch but playing at the fete. I love things like that. I've just realised it's bank holiday monday so i can't but really really would have loved to. (I've been practicising all my Grade 6 pieces today I've forgotten about the Grade 5 theory now cos I won't know my result for another five weeks, so I am doing Trinity Guildhall Grade 6 whatever the outcome and I've learnt all the scales perfectly and the pieces are going well too.) Any time you get another fete (Christmas???) I'd love to be able to be there.

Depends where in northamptonshire it is. You can get to Kettering fairly easy from Leicester but Northampton is a no no (especially on bank holidays as that when they decide to paint their nails or whatever they do between Rugby/Northampton/Milton Keynes).

I'll be interested depending on where it is. Though not the curry ill.gif
