Hey everyone!!

I need some help. I'm studying for grade one and coz we're not at school at the moment I can't ask my teacher!

When you play the F major scale with your right hand, are you meant to have an extra finger? I've tried and tried but always have a spare finger!! sad.gif

Hello, yes you end up landing on top F with your fourth finger (your fifth finger being spare).

Wish my pupils would just ask the forums! Must suggest it! I get phonecalls about this type of thing when they're sitting scratching their heads at home and I'm watching Dr. Who!

Hey!

Yes, you do, well done for working that out and actually thinking about your fingerings - you're obviously working really hard, keep it up!

If it helps, F major is the Funny one with the Flat, Finishing on the Fourth - lots of Fs you see!

I really like that! Are there any other saying for scales? I have only one

F# major is a 3 hugger (rather than a tree hugger) as the white notes are either side of the 3 blacks.
