Picadilly Circus

Good move. Not at all certain what to do here.

Shadwell I think is an allowable move, but I fully expect all of you to laugh at me now...
captaintau
Not at all laughable. Actually, quite tough to move well from there.

Leicester Square.

Not sure that was the best move. Far too risky to use the Circle line at this stage in the game!

Perivale. Get out of that one. biggrin.gif

*cautiously*

East Acton ?
DString
Mile End??

(I couldn't of shouted Mornington Crescent just then could I??)
captaintau
Yes, you could have shouted it. Sorry.

South Bank. MC still possible (I think) in three.

sarah123
Hyde Park Corner
captaintau
Hyde Park (above) did indeed make MC possible in two*

So Oxford Street, prevents MC being possible in one*

* I think!

you take this way too seriously tongue.gif

As long as you stay off the Northern Line, how can you lose?

Conversely jour opponent has to be a bit of an idiot to let you win.

Phew - thought I'd sacrificed it all then: luckily my desperate gamble paid off.

Wooo, good move.

Edgware Road (Circle Line)

I know that Edgware Road (Bakerloo Line) would leave a blatantly open Mornington Crescent opportunity for the next player, and we can't have that laugh.gif
katyjay
Good heavens, Barry, that's a sneaky one.

OK..... Angel

Clever. On any other day of the week, I could go to Mornington Crescent from there. But, according to rule 234XJ95b2QD101, I am forbidden to go straight to Mornington Crescent from Angel on a Sunday. Silly rules...

So let's go to Dollis Hill instead. biggrin.gif
katyjay
Dollis Hill?

Well, that will call for a rather different angle of attack.....

Elephant and Castle

Well, it's a ponderer, that move...but after careful consideration and consulation with Stovington's regarding use of the Northern Loop, I'm going to go for:

Well, that depends on what rules you want to use biggrin.gif

I like rule no. 2372.45bqg94z

'Anyone who moves to Oxford Circus from any station inside zone 1 will be sent immediately to Ickenham without the chance of passing Go or collecting £200. Once the player has arrived at Ickenham, it is compulsory to sing 'Jingle Bells', in the key of Eb major, while standing on one leg.'

Is this the moment to invoke the "Pause and pay respect" rule? Dear Old Humph would hate to hinder the fun I know, but this seems like the very thread where we ought to pay him a small tribute - What a man! No doubt the jazzers will add their bit over on the Jazz forum.

Oh, BTW - Embankment.
maggiemay
Indeed - RIP Humph - and thanks for all the laughs too!

erm - Upminster?
Steinway
Erm sorry to interrupt, everyone unsure.gif

But I'd like to know the rules for this game! Could someone tell me please? Phil Dixon said the rules could be found under 'NF Stovold’s Mornington Crescent: Rules and Origins', but I don't know where to find this!!

Thanks biggrin.gif

I think it has been out of print for a while...I'm sure there must be something on this new-fangled internet or that Wikipedia if you care to look.

Dear dear Humph. I wonder if the programme can possibly continue without him.

His timing was incredible, and a grea musucian too..he will be sadly missed.
