Hey all,
I'm not really sure what to do i have done about 14 music exams including 2 theory. I never get above pas sor very low merit (and that was just twice). Also, i did a singing exam recently and had a sort of panic attack before and sung terribly. I still havn't had my results and it was on 27th June. Its obious i've failed. I also did music GCSE a couple of months ago and i was rubbish at that aswell. I'm not sure if i should be doing it anymore

I'm sure you haven't done as badly as you think you have.

Why ''shouldn't'' you keep enjoying music?! There's a whole heck of a lot more to music than distinctions in exams. Personally, I've only ever taken one music exam which did not go well (sounds like a similar thing happened to your singing exam wink.gif ) and although I have plans to take another I very much doubt I'll ever get 14 under my belt, or any sort of high marks!

If you're feeling downhearted why not take it easy for a while - play/sing only stuff you want to work on and completely ignore the exam side of things?

You can't possibly be ''so bad'' if you've reached a standard to take and pass so many exams. There's a reason they call it a ''pass'' - 'cause you're good enough to play at that level, and the merits you've achieved prove you've gone even better than that. The point is that you enjoy it, which you must do else you wouldn't post on an internet forum all about music. wink.gif

The 'point' is enjoying it. If you're not enjoying exams and fighting to advance, then stop doing exams - maybe just for a while, but maybe for longer. You've passed exams and even got a merit - so you can't be 'bad'!
Don't focus on exams, find some music you like and play it for fun. For no reason whatsoever. Not preparing for an exam. Or a concert. Or a performance. Just for you. Choose something that's not on any exam syllabus, and have a tinker. There's no pressure to do it 'right' or perfectly...just enjoy.
