I just started uploading a 4 minute video. However, when I say 4 minute, it has been going at it for over 30 minutes now. With a decent broadband connection, which I have, how long should it take for it to upload?

Over 30 mins?

I'd suggest just cancelling it and starting from scratch.

Over 30 mins?

Nearly an hour now.
Also, it was off a DVD. Can Youtube do DVDs...?

Not long at all, in fact almost immediately.
Mine seems to have a bit of problems though and takes like 5 minutes.
It used to be immediate.

I think I shall try again... Will it do my DVD file?

Technical terms and I are not compatible, but could you convert the DVD file to a film equivalent of a midi file? That's the format mine are in - it might be GPP?

How's the speed of the rest of your internet? I mention it because mine's been going funny today, uploading anything instantly, downloading at snails pace... Try this test:

I have a Linux tool here which allows me to convert DVD files into others. Linux is great.
A midi type file wouldn't really work for film. I think an Mpeg 4 would be the best though I don't really know much about film types.
What film is it?

Really? What's it called? Can I get it in Windows? I don't want to have to come all the way downstairs!
I have jsut downloaded three, none of which work well enough...

Actually, it turns out it doesn't do that. I was reading too much into the description. A quick internet search has returned Movavi as a promising option though.

I'll do that one next. The one I'm on at the moment is big, so it must be good!

Careful not to use all of our bandwidth

(please note, this smily is purely because I've never used it before, it does not reflect my mood or any such thing)
