Hiya!!

I've just done OCR music GCSE, I'm awaiting the results?!?!?!?!?

are you talking about the composistion for your instrument??? the intergrated coursework??? because the other piece is a dance composistion??

anywayz......... i find you compose better in a genre that you enjoy and play most, that way you know what the piece should sound and feel like (on your instrument). the only thinfg is with intergrated coursework is that you have to play a piece and study an extra two pieces of that style written specifically for your instrument, this can be annoying, it toke me ages to find pieces, is harder than you think.

keep an open mind, find the genre that you most enjoy for your instrument, ad compose in that!

if it is for your dance composistion, i would do a waltz, easier to compose, reqiures a simple melody, specific bass line etc.....

hope this helps,

GOOD LUCK! jaime

Hi Jaime,

What a horrid thought - having to compose in a genre. But that's the way it is, I suppose. Originality is not wanted!

i really dont know how to take this comment?? was there a slight bit of sarcasm in there?? cos you do know that the composition in GCSE has to be in a specific Genre!

and as far as personal insults go (if that is what you are trying to achieve) it takes more than a message over a forum to upset me biggrin.gif

children, who'd have them?

Me too... so it looks like that woman shouting out the section names in the rondo question wasn't too off-putting after all then!

I don't think Rhapsodin meant to upset you at all, Jaime... I think it is a true comment- it does seem horrid to have to compose in a particular genre, and it does restrict originality. Oh well, as my GCSE teacher said, you have to learn the rules before you can break them... smile.gif
