I am just posting a short note to say that pianist Clifford Benson, a wonderful musician and, I am proud to say, my dearest friend, died on Friday at 8am.

That is very sad news. sad.gif He was very well-known as an accompanist, especially for William Bennett. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to you, LDW, and anyone else who knew him personally.

I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. I didn't actually know him but I went to one of his recitals many years ago in Chislehurst near Bromley in Kent. The memory of his playing is still very vivid in my mind.

The venue was in a large Victorian house beginning with R I think - I'm sorry I can't recall the name - perhaps someone might know.

Thanks for letting the forum know LDW.

Edit: I have the name - Ripley Arts Centre
