What do the things that look like stray demi-semiquaver beams in the Bonsor mean?

Congratulations, Lizbun, that's a great result!

I wasn't ready for the G7 aural either, and the G8 is even worse. unsure.gif

Yes well odne Liz that's excellent.

The grade 8 aural shouldn't be too horrific if you are secure enough with the grade 7, as it just takes it up a step. I did my grade 8 10 years after grade 7, and by that stage had no memory of the grade 7 aurals. My first reaction was...they want me do what?! ill.gif laugh.gif

I was aiming for a distinction, but it's still good.
I mucked up the aural (wasn't realy ready).

That's brillant news Liz!!!

I did mine yesterday I played Giga, Octobre and Willie Wagglestick RUNabout! The examiner stopped me and asked me to play the wagglestick faster after I played the 1st bar?!?

I played the Chopin Mazurka last year when I took grade 6 with Trinity Guildhall which is strange that it is on the grade 7 syllabus with AB.

I found the aural ok but I'm still very worried about my results as I slipped on some of my pieces.

The scales were ok though.

I got my results today, I got 125!

I got 24 for the Clementi, 27 for the Bruch and 29 for the Villa Lobos!! But only 15 for the sight reading sad.gif My teacher said she was disappointed with that becayse I'm a really good sight reader but I always do terribly in the exams. I only got 18 for the scales too, I was hoping I'd have done better but that's just because this was the first time I'd ever actually practised scales a lot, the comments were mostly about poor co-ordination... something my teacher never mentions lol.

Yaay!

Anyone doing grade 7?
What pieces are you doing?

A student of mine will be doing Grade 7 next April. Right now we are thinking of doing either the Haydn or Scarlatti Sonata for A, Chopin Mazurka for B, and Debussy Little Shepherd for C.

biggrin.gif Wicked! I got my results for my piano! biggrin.gif

I got 130/150 marks I found it really hard. Took me ages to learn my pieces! I did my worst on them.

Sight reading went really well. 19 marks !!

Just a shame that my pieces went badly.

Really happy about results. Waiting to see other fantastic results
