I have got a pupil doing grade 7 over the next year and will be using the TG syllabus I have just looked at the scales and I see that there is a requirment for crescendo/diminuendo (p-f-p) I assume this means to crescendo to forte to the top of the scale and diminuendo back down. Can anyone clariify this please. Thank you.

Yeah, that's right.

Yes, it's right. funnily enough I had always taught pupils to shape scales that way. a pupil of mine did grade 7 TG last term having done ABRSM previously. His thoughts were that the scales were much better- more interesting and easier to get stuck in to the reduced number. smile.gif
