Hi,
I know this is a bit silly, but I like my stationery and am looking for an academic diary.
I looked at them in Paperchase, but couldn't find anything nice sad.gif sad.gif Any ideas for where else I can get nice academic diaries?

I bought a nice one for college from the works.

Have you tried WHSmiths??

Have you tried Letts? They do pretty ones, and I think you can buy things on their website smile.gif

Smiths do have fairly smart ones. They're okay, but not really 'funky' more functional. Which is what I like smile.gif

I have looked at Smiths online.

I like nice and functional...maybe I'm asking for too much.

I bought a letts one which came with a pen too! It's a decent size and it's got a lilac cover with navy writing. It's definately functional, and almost funky. Although probably btter described as nice!

Was going to suggest paperchase for funky, WHsmiths for smart ( I use these every year).
How about filofax? They have a wide range and you just need to buy the inserts each year.

I have used 'This diary will change your life' (http://benrik.co.uk/content/books.asp) which, as well as being funky, functional and robust, it is also entertaining and educational in a funny sort of way!

I also have a filofax which is more compact and portable for everyday carrying around in a hand bag. I've never heard of paperchase.

I love Castelli diaries. They're very functional, but also very attractive and have lovely little touches, such as an interesting fact for the day. Today's interesting fact is that Faraday demonstrated his electrical transformer, on this date in the Royal Institute, London 1831.

PS. I've just checked on their site and they do quite a variety of academic versions.

I don't know how much use this will be to you Nicki, but I tend to find these sort of things in those little gifty-type shops you find dotted around - embroidered diaries, sequined notebooks, silk covers...They make fantastic Christmas presents! smile.gif

I use a filofax and think they're great!

I bought a cheap plastic one to see if I was going to use it properly and after a year of using it every day I bought a powder blue Italian leather one for my birthday and it's gorgeous.

It's great because it has an address book and I can keep track of all my business contacts too.. in fact it's rather full and heavy so I need to edit it!

Perhaps it's not quite 'funky' enough though. (but I use the academic year pages)

Saw a nice Filofax I like, but they're quite expensive, so might ask one for Christmas...

I think Paperchase must just be in England. www.paperchase.co.uk

Oh they do! There is a fairtrade shop called Just in Leicester which does stuff like that, and they're lovely

Oooh that sounds lovely. I think I would use mine, I always used my homework diary from school, and the address bit would be useful.
