I think that the russian anti-villain should be called Dimitri as it's the only russian name I know and I want to contribute something.
petrat
How about some trees for the non-singers? And someone called Vlad?
Rosemary7391
*Wonders how to integrate a tree into the plot*
snhs
Have the daughter finding the body of the AH leaning against a tree/in a forest?
Rosemary7391
Okay!
superpyroman
We still need a title. We also seem to have left out the villain completely and had him replaced with the anti-villain who does villainous things.
Rosemary7391
It amounts to the same thing though smile.gif I don't think we can have both!
snhs
What about giving the anti villain a villain as an accomplice?
Or you could make the father the villain and have an anti villain a bit like Paris in R and J, who the father wants her to marry.

Hmm... the villain can be the advisor to the AV... and while the AV just wants to do good, the Villain comes up with evil plans and sells them as wonderfull good deeds.

We seem to have drifted away from the forums as well. It could be set in forumville with the anti-villain a very strict Mod who takes away everyones liberties in order to protect them from people saying profanities and such.

Hmm I like it... so the mod is just trying to uphold the rules... and the villain can be an anonymous villain claiming to be the site creator... who sends "suggestions" about new forum rules "for the greater good." The villain could turn out to be Lorna Linley - not just a troll but a truly delusional psychopath.

Is there room for a singing swedish chef in the plot?

Good idea, maybe a manipulative prime minister, and as a musical link Machiavelli so we can have a theme with lots of fiddly bits associated with him.

Maybe they could look out for the daughter and overhear some of th V/AV'S plots.

I will update the plot in the morning when I am awake ennough to decipher that lot and string it together in a coherent manner! In the meantime, keep the ideas coming! biggrin.gif

So far we have:

-a (Russian) Anti-hero called Dimitri,
-Anti-villian, a very strict mod, who takes away everyones liberties to protect,
-The beautiful daughter of the anti villian (who turns out to be the heroine),
-Villiagers,
-A tree called Vlad,
-A villian adviser to the Anti-villian, manipulative prime minister called Machiavelli.

So far. I think unsure.gif Correct me if I'm wrong

Might be better giving him a different name as Machiavelli was a real person, nothing to stop him being a Machiavellian character though.
I'm guessing Machiavellian exercises aren't unique to flute. Are they unsure.gif?
Rosemary7391
The plot update..

1) Forumvillae ruled by the Anti-Villian, who is moderating the forum as usual, but is then swayed by Prime Minister Machiavelli into introducing draconian new rules and commiting huge injustices.

2) The Anti-Hero Falls in love with the daughter of the Anti-Villain. The AH believes that the daughter will marry him, but only if he topples the dictorial reign of her father.

3) So AH duely kills AV and asks the daughter to marry him.

4) But she refuses, and tells him in no uncertain terms that he is an idiot and she hates him etc.

5)Machiavelli is then free to take on the leadership of Forumville, and it becomes an awful place to be. He also forces the daughter to marry him, but she knows what he is doing and hates him.

6) She poisons Machiavelli's food, then goes on to lead the people into an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity, but..

7) She then finds the body of AH, against the roots of a tree that had been carved into an uncanny likeness of herself. He had wasted away from his loneliness, that she hated him.

8) She realizes only then how much she loved him, and commits suicide that they might be together as she now knows they should have been.

I think thats everything... Correct me if I'm wrong!

If at any point you have need of a fairy godmother who speaks continuously in rhyme, well, you know where I am! (Have just written the prologue for this year's school panto wacko.gif).
frenchyhorn
Fairy Godmother idea could be someones conscience eg. AH's

I think we need a lighter scene somewhere to add a bit of relief from all the death and gloom and suicide, maybe with some fairies (and possibly fairy godmother) biggrin.gif
Rosemary7391
Okay... *thinks*

AH goes mad with lonliness and sees all these faries biggrin.gif

Yes, perhaps a different name: unless we are planning to give a different cultural background to every character?

How about the villain is Lorna Linley is the villain, and AH's ex-girlfriend, who is bitter about AH not praising her sufficiently over her apocryphal talents (this is why they split up). They were both very arrogant, and met up after both being exiled simultaneously from their hometowns for their superiority and ill-treatment of fellows, and this is why they made such a good pair.

She later trained to be a fairy's apprentice, but because of her arrogance, the fairy cursed her to the fate of humiliation of her life being tied to the AH that she now so hated, in that she will become grossly transfigured is she herself kills AH (and vice-versa - the loophole is that someone else can kill them on their behalf, thus why daughter kills villain successfully). She is obviously proud of her looks, and so won't do it. Because of her leaning towards the dark side in her bitterness, she also refused to teach Lorna any further, and Lorna became the first ever witch the world had seen. She tried to kill her ex-mentor, but fairy gets away. Fairy runs into daughter, and takes a shine to the daughter, and looks after her as her fairy godmother, as daughter never knew her mother. In trying to protect the daughter from hurt from getting mixed up with AH who she currently fancies despite his arrogance, she tells her of all AH's previous misdeeds that she learned from Lorna, and about Lorna too.

Lorna, now power hungry, tries to take over town where AV dictator resides, and becomes his advisor. She poses in disguise as a male advisor, as it is set in a time where AV was distrustful of a female advisor. She is arrogant, and wants the love of the people (well, her idea of love, i.e. willingness to serve her) and decides she will introduce democracy, and as she will be the only candidate, she will win (once she has eliminated dictator) with the 'votes' of the people to satisfy her pride.

She is shocked when she finds out that so many years later after their break-up, AH is back in the picture, looking for a wife, in her town! She is very cunning, so does not try to kill him (which she knows by the fairy's magic, she cannot), but sets him up with daughter, suggesting how much daughter hates father for brutal policies and way he has changed (all down to Lorna), and how she will be bound to the one that kills him. AH, blinded in judgement by his love for the daughter at first sight (as she is stunningly beautiful), does as Lorna suggests (not knowing it is Lorna). Lorna then paints him as psychopath who should be exiled as he posed a threat to the wellbeing of the community, and manipulates the villagers into getting rid of him/killing him. AH runs off.

A few years pass, daughter is curious about AH, while Lorna has introduced democracy to the people (and thus they think she is a saviour compared to the last ruler, when she obviously isn't). She now has power over the people, what she always wanted.

AH still can't stop thinking about the beautiful daughter (who inherited her looks from Lorna), and comes back, thinking that Lorna is trying to win the affections of the daughter (Lorna is posing as a man, and he does not realise her true identity) and so takes a valiant fight against Lorna for the love of the daughter. Lorna casts a magic spell on him to immobilise him and torture him. Ever arrogant, she then rips off her disguise to mock him - daughter hearing the screams comes over. But Lorna is too quick - she then uses her magic to force AH to profess his love for Lorna in front of daughter, and daughter says she never loved AH anyway, especially after what fairy has told her, and is angry at him for his secret past and killing her father, and obviously for professing his love for his ex-girlfriend (she does not realise Lorna cast a spell on him) and runs off. Lorna releases spell and laughs as AH crawls away, distraught over what has happened, sure now that the daughter will never love him. Lorna hopes he will die from grief instead.

Turns out that daughter is actually Lorna and AH's daughter that she left to die under a tree after breaking up with AH (AH knew he had a daughter, but when breaking up with Lorna, Lorna told him she had drowned the baby), and that AV found her and adopted her after his wife died from falling off a horse, and it is not until the day Lorna tries to kill her for her reluctance to follow her orders that she realises (for she did not know that AV took her in many years ago, and she is now all grown up) as she sees a locket that AH had bought for the baby when he and Lorna were together. So she does not kill her, but does not tell her that she is her mother either.

Lorna retains power over village, even with true identity revealed, because she decides that she can't be bothered to take the moral high ground anymore - she just uses her magic to control them instead.

Daughter does not know, and just thinks Lorna is evil dictator, and so poisons her. As Lorna breathes her last few breaths, she tells daughter the truth about she being her mother and AH being her father. Daughter obviously upset at new findings, and obviously can't love AH anymore - but she still wants to find him, as he is her biological father.

Alas, she is too late, he is dead having wasted away by drink and poverty, and never realised that his daughter was still alive.

Gosh, that is rather dark, and somewhat strange! OK, maybe need to tone it down a bit! ph34r.gif

Wow! That's really interesting... ok I'm slightly sqicked by the creepy incestuous bits, but that's my problem... cool.
Wobby
Hehe, sorry, a bit of an over-active imagination! smile.gif

Hmm... it is a bit dark and rather serious though, as well as very strange, so maybe not? tongue.gif

It all depends on whether it is to be a musical by members of the forums, or a musical about the forums - if it is the latter, it should be really light and funny, to do with evil examiners and stuff. That reminds me of that funny battle that occurred at: http://forums.abrsm.org/index.php?showtopic=7026&st=1425

That was a fairly long time ago, though, but it was fun! biggrin.gif

~Wobby~
frenchyhorn
Hehe Wobby we have a burial ground in the cafe?!
snhs
laugh.gif Well i suppose it makes sense the older members do need somewhere to 'retire' to.
frenchyhorn
We could incorperate the burial ground in the plot!
snhs
How about having the tree where the AH dies in the burial ground?
frenchyhorn
Thats what I was thinking
Wobby
I think when I posted that, I originally was thinking of like a secret crypt space underneath the cafe, but it can extend upwards I guess into a graveyard up the hill! I guess it must show how old the cafe is if it has had that many deaths - either that, or the food! (Seeing as I'm not really managing there much anymore, it's OK for me to say so!) tongue.gif

I think if it is to be a Forums Musical, though, then we should lighten it up with Examiners and stuff rather than some sort of violent love plot like Shakespeare where almost every character dies!

~Wobby~
snhs
How about an evil Chief examiner who goes around forcing people to sing impossible tunes ohmy.gif?
Wobby
Yes - and in reference to petrat's signature, he squashes the fairy hostages for every note out of tune! tongue.gif

~Wobby~
Rosemary7391
blink.gif

This has become rather confusing... Wobby you have an amazing imagination though! Perhaps we could adopt that as the plot then lighten it up with various amusing diversions, such as snhs' chief examiner ?
Wobby
Maybe: I was just kind of wondering which way we were going to take the story - either sort of comical route, or serious route? Unless you're suggesting a combination of both? smile.gif

But once we've got the story worked out, then we can begin composing the music! What sort of style music would we be going for? biggrin.gif

(By the way, offTopic.gif but does anybody know if there is a specific name for the genre of music that is kind of like carnival music with clarinets and a kind of plodding bass?)

~Wobby~
snhs
Well so far it seems predominantly serious, but if Shakespeare can put in bawdy humour i think we can probably add a bit of comedy.
Rosemary7391
I think serious with comic sidelines smile.gif

Wobby I'm not sure what you're talking about - do you have a recording?

Style, I think would have to be agreed in the only possible way - via a poll!
Wobby
Ah, OK! smile.gif

In regards to the offTopic.gif, kind of like fairground music/carnival - the best I can describe is an upbeat Cakewalk sort of style, but occasionally with the use of an instrument that sounds like a fairground ride? blink.gif
