My friend and I are (eventually) going to write a silly musical... which brought me and Rosemary to thinking we could do a forum musical.

Basically if you write a piece of music that has anything to do with the forums (I mean ANYTHING) then submit (somehow) eg. if hand written scan it, host it on photobucket (or image shack ect.) and post it/send a link so everyone can see it!

Submit anything... no matter how bad! And we can put it in order later.

I will make it clearer as it goes on... I promise

It dosent matter what it is. An instrumenal solo or a full blown chorus! Any instruments, any style

Why would the hero/heroine have to be triumphant? It would make a change if Mr bouffant killed them.

Good always triumphs over evil Superpyroman! Didn't you ever watch Lord Of The Rings? Or Spiderman? Or X-Men? Tch honestly! It's a RULE!

So no one will expect it when the hero/heroine is tragically killed in a skiing accident.

It couldn't happen. The hero would somehow revive of his own accord, and sneak in at just the right moment. The writer doesn't get much of a say in it really, that's just the way it goes. Either that or he would later be avenged by his son/brother/mentee etc.

No no no! Not skiing! To many memorys (I physically cant ski thanks to my foot ) but if the good guy dies then we could do a Forums Musical 2 where the good guy gets avendged!

I like that idea. Then in the forums musical 3, the bad guy could also get avenged.

Yes and then in 4 we could get Simon Cowell (my sisters watching X-factor at the min) to nuke it all

Couldn't we have an anti-hero and an anti-villain?

Like the protagonist is a kind of hateable character, and the antagonist a loveable character. So the anti-hero is really annoying and arrogant (call in Lorna Linley!), and the anti-villain is in actually nice, but misguided?

I dont think so. We could either plan it out first or see what people come up with and put it in some sort of order... see what we come up with.

Well I wrote 5 bars of a fanfare which could be used as an opening or if we do the Awards. I put it in my signature . Im off to watch the Last Night of the Proms now. Goodnight

Bit late getting on to this, but what you really need is a Russian anti hero, who has a flaw which prevents him from being a real hero but does the wrong things for the right reasons in pursuit of "all that is best and beautiful". Thats not to say he can't be annoying and arrogant obviously .

That confused me but sounds alright!

So we have a Russian anti hero... Who falls in love with the beautiful daughter of our anti villian? Then our anti hero kills the anti villian who has been doing terrible things in the name of protecting people, because the anti hero believes he has been preventing his daughter from being with him? Then commits suicide when the anti hero gets told exactly how arrogant etc. he is by the daughter? And the daughter goes on to be the true heroine of the story, restoring justice, only to commit suicide herself when she realises her actions have caused the death of the man who brought it all about?

Any opinions? (Or do I have a competely rubbish imagination ? )

Yes, I can be rather morbid... Perhaps the anti hero should disappear into the countryside, and be found years later and they get married?

Well maybe, but actually all my favourite musicals are sad... Although maybe we should give the anti-hero more reason to commit suicide than being called arrogant... Or could he die doing something heroic to make up for his mistakes?

hmm... *thinks on it* Although the anti hero did get turned down for marriage, having thought he was sure to marry her.. *thinks some more*

What if the anti hero turns her down, as her father threatened to disinherit her and he doesn't want to condemn her to penury?
Then you can add in as many suicide/murder possibilities as you want, daughter killing anti hero/father/self etc or running away to the country to try to find him again. I suppose you could also go with the classic death bed reunion, daughter botches suicide anti hero goes to her and on her death kills himself so they can be together.

I thnk we need to get organised! How about I have one post to keep track of the plot, and you have one to keep track of current characters, thier descriptions and names?

Sounds like a plan.

So we have:
-a (Russian) Anti-hero called Dimitri,
-Anti-villian,
-The beautiful daughter of the anti villian (who turns out to be the heroine).

We need names people (and more than 3 characters)

And the plot (Subject to change if you have any better ideas!)

1) A place ruled by the Anti-Villian, who is destroying peoples freedoms and committing awful crimes in the name of protecting them.

2) The Anti-Hero Falls in love with the daughter of the Anti-Villain. The AH believes that the daughter will marry him, but only if he topples the dictorial reign of her father.

3) So AH duely kills AV and asks the daughter to marry him.

4) But she refuses, and tells him in no uncertain terms that he is an idiot and she hates him etc.

5) She then goes on to lead the people into an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity, but..

6) She then finds the body of AH, against the roots of a tree that had been carved into an uncanny likeness of herself. He had wasted away from his loneliness, that she hated him.

7) She realizes only then how much she loved him, and commits suicide that they might be together as she now knows they should have been.
