Hi everyone,

The music school that I am teaching is organising a violin soloist competition end of this month. As there are only 2 violin teachers in that school, meaning most likely my students will be competiting with my other students for the prize. However, my students ranges from beginner till grade 7, but few of them just scrapped a pass few marks above the passing marks for their ABRSM exam, this year. Which means they are actually under their level of playing. I am thinking that pieces around grades 4-6 level would be ok for them, but to play 'solo' ? Anyone has any ideas of any pieces to be played?

Since I am teaching most of the higher grades violin for this school, I think my students will mostly compete among themselves. Should I let them play the same pieces, or different pieces for each student and up to them to express their playing?

Now the main problem is to find solo pieces for them. I'm staying in a country where violin music is hardly available unsure.gif

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.
