Just spent the last two hours trying to reclaim my Ebay account after it was hacked. Fortunately I spotted it very quickly so little damage was done (I hope).
First I knew were alerts to confirm my new email address and password - neither of which I had changed. Needless to say I was then locked out of my account! The hacker had used my account to email several other members about expensive laptops etc. I am told that this has all been sorted out and I have finally got my account back (with new password etc.) and have had to change settings on my email.

Very annoying!

It might be worth checking your account for strange alerts...

When that happens, you ask Ebay to confirm your IP adress then HACK THEM RIGHT BACK!!!

Glad to hear it's sorted now, though.

Did you use a very simple and low-security password? Or might there have been a trojan horse in your computer? Or did you enter your password when a window popped out to say that you had to give your password or else your ebay account would be cancelled? I think it's interesting to see how your account could be hacked into.
