i know u must have read this so many times but i wanted to know, what do i need to learn to be able to play by ear or especially improvise. And if anyone has ANY tips on accompinying Plz tell them to me thanx!

i think thats well hard. im starting on grade 5 and even i find that hard. wat grade r u? im useless at improvising but if ur trying to work out something by ear jsut kinda doodle, mess around on the keys in a way. i've just learnt the chorus to offspring and other bits and pieces by doing that! To play by ear really u've just got to really learn wat all the notes sound like so if sum1 randomely played notes on a piano or sung a note u could recognize them...its hard....my music teacher could do it when we were composing songs....and shes had years of practice!!!!

Just practice playing anything you hear on the radio,etc. It's the only way.
