The same is true in Scotland; 23.4 degrees in here, which AP assures me is cold....

Yep, he's right tongue.gif Anything under around 25 degrees is cold tongue.gif

The heating was still off at work today IPB Image. Two problems - I work in a tiny little room where the furniture needs rearranging if someone arrives in a wheelchair or buggy, just to get them in, and it gets horribly stuffy in there, especially after the fourth smoker, third person with unwashed feet, and second person with unwashed, well, anything much ph34r.gif . The dilemma is - do I open the window and get some fresh air, freezing in the process, or do I leave the window shut, trying to preserve every last scrap of heat? The thermometer got down to 3 Celsius this morning...

My poor patients, especially those who had to have my frozen hands put on their tummies.

In contrast I spent all yesterday teaching in a room with the heating going full blast, and the (woefully inadequate) window open wide. My radiator thermostat appears not to work, and the other rooms in the building have multiple outside walls and several windows, and the teachers in there get cold easily. If I turn the main thermostat down, someone will turn it up again within ten minutes. sad.gif

I used to have French in the hottest room in the school. Yesterday we had French in a really cold room because the heating hadn't been turned on yet, and so we went through to the hottest in the school room, and it was actually warm! ohmy.gif

I bet that was loverly! My form room was f-freezing this morning. It doesnt help that my form rooms not attached to the rest of the school, so we have to hope our form tutor turns the radiators on before he disappears into the nice warm staffroom. Now I'm off to find a pair of socks to put on my feet.

I've not got a big blue fleecy thing, and even if I did, I doubt I would be able to wear it at school.

*Note to self - Buy "big blue fleecy thing"

Whyyyyy is it so colddddd?!?!

*Other note to self - Stay away from boys at parties who have tonsilitis. It can prove to be disasterous ph34r.gif

I love the coldness, because it makes the warmness all the better! It's also an excuse to over-indulge in hot puddings and sitting by the fire. I also have a strange habit of eating ice-cream around this time of the year too! biggrin.gif

The only thing I don't like is all the black ice that forms! huh.gif

I hate it when it's cold. And when it's dark in the mornings. And how it get's dark earlier. sad.gif

Why can't it be summer all year round? sad.gif

Well, a white Christmas is always good, but without the coldness in September it would be just fab...

Oh, i don't mind when it snows! Infact I love the snow! It's just when it's raining/windy/dark/cold that annoys me! I love days when the sky is clear and everything is frosty and the air smells fresh and cold smile.gif

I love it when there's a raging thunderstorm though, and it's throwing it down with rain and so on - just so long as I'm inside and it's warm, and I have a hot drink and my bedcovers.

I get cold ludicrously easily. I feel cold in summer. I cannot abide having my window open. My body and mind both seize up at anything below a nice, warm summer temperature.

Get your GP to check your thyroid levels. They're probably normal but with that story you should have it checked.

QUOTE(melody_maker @ Sep 18 2007, 05:10 PM) *

I am sooo cold!
I don't know why, but I seem to be cold all the time at the moment.
I have a weird thing (don't remember the name of) in my hands and feet, blood doesn't circulate properly, so I'm generally cold most of the time, but recently it's getting worse and worse, and it's a nightmare trying to write in school!

Possibly Reynaud's - chck this link: Reynaud's. Painful but usually not serious. Again, if you haven't already you should discuss it with your GP. thereThere.gif

Taking my stethoscope and white coat off, I know what you mean about the cold: bob.gif

I find that Hanon sorts it out. I sit down with cold fingers and nose and by exercise 10 at the most I'm pausing to take off my sweater/fleece. I suspect Chopin's studies would have the same effect, if I could play any of them!

I was FREEZING yesterday, especially in the morning as my heatings broken and my dad refuses to fix it. And he never turns it on until the 1st December anyway! (if we're lucky!)

Oh no!! Sounds like my worst nightmare!! Luckily for me my mum often feels the cold too, so we whack the heating up! But then my poor dad is literally a human radiator so it's kind of sweltering for him laugh.gif

Thermal vests are great! I was the only warm one in the church hall this morning. That plus the fact that I was leaping about a lot and waving my arms around. It is both cold and wet now. One of my little pupils told me today that we are due for a tornado! I hope that she is mistaken.

I don't have any heating in my room as its in the attic. Luckily i have a laptop so can keep warm by lieing in bed and type at the same time.
