About this time last year I had a sudden influx of mice in my house! Called environmental health who gave me some baited traps and they seemed to go away.

End of problem......or so I thought!

A couple of months ago my digital piano started behaving oddly. Would sometimes not poer up, lights would flash. Then all would be well. Then it starte making the wierdest noises instead of musical notes. I don't play it much as I have a real on too, but I keep it 'cos it's nice to record and to play late at night.

Yesterday I finally got the Yamaha repair man 'round. Mouse droppings all over the circuit boards, a few nibbled wires but the little ######s (I doubt the auto-censor will let me say that) had urinated (should let me say that) on the circuit boards which, as a result, had slowly corroded over the past year!!!

It looks like a bill of ~£500 and, upon checking my household contents cover, I find that damage caused by vermin is specifically excluded!!!!

Little horrors ! We found out a few years ago that acts of dog were excluded too. Perhaps a house cat would be a useful addition to the family now? I am sorry to hear that they have caused so much damage. Would it be feasible for you to do the repairs yourself if you could get the correct parts?

After having looked inside a digital piano - there is no way I'd be able to do anything!

The repairman said I was lucky the little sods hadn't got into my Broadwood. Apparently they are very fond of felt hammers!

Oh my gosh!!! Naughty mice ohmy.gif !! I hope you told them off!! I'd better watch out for anything like that...I'd sooo cry if my digital piano started to go funny.... sad.gif

Hope it gets sorted soon and they don't come back!

Sorry to hear about what happenned to your digital piano. :-(

I found mouse poop on the bench at church last week, so I've been worrying that the little beastie is going to get inside the rest of the organ and nibble away at something important. Hadn't even occurred to me that he might damage it by piddling on circuit boards (it's electro-pneumatic, not tracker action). Eeeeek!

And a friend told me about an organ that had the bellows badly nibbled by mice.

Seems like they have several ways to mess up pianos/organs. :-(

Thats awful. Mice can be such a pain. We hav a musical mouse living in our house at the mo, he only comes out when I start playing the piano. Makes me jump out of my skin hence the lack of practise lately biggrin.gif
