Shall i learn the viola? wub.gif

My main instrument is actually the flute, and i recently started on piano.

But suddenly, i have this urge to learn the viola *eyes shine up to sky*

but im scared to tell my mum as i dont want to waste her money by *simply* suggesting a new instrument.

What shall i tell her ..?

I think you should start the viola, its a great instrument. A lot of orchestras are short of viola players and some have violas that they lend to people if they'll play in their orchestra when they are good enough. You should look around and see if there's an orchestra near you who would do that and take it from there.

Wait a few weeks and see. My sister had this mad urge to learn the saxophone for about 2 weeks but then it wore off... so I think you should wait to see if the same happens to you before you speak to your mum.

If you still want to then, go for it!!! I'd love to play the viola... *sigh* smile.gif

Cecilia, I think you'd be really good at the viola. It's not any harder than violin and it makes a great sound. Changing over from violin to viola isn't hard and doesn't take very long. My viola teacher says that the average teenage violinist could changeover in a fortnight or less. And if you've got Grade 5 theory then you'll know alto clef. Go for it Cecilia biggrin.gif
