I have asked a similar question many months ago, but no one has responded.
Currently I am teaching a transfer student who had studied with an advocate of the Taubman technique. From the information that I have been able to gather online, it seems as though the Taubman technique emphasizes rotation more than anything else. I find that some of the ideas are excellent, but I am skeptical about the double rotation technique. For example, let's say the RH plays the notes C-D-E-F-G. Before playing each note, the hand would swing to the left first, and press the key as it swings back to the right.
The double rotation sounds very odd to me. And also, I have actually seen the student's teacher play in the past. The rotational motion is hugely exaggerated, and the student has picked that up. I am wondering if I should gently have the student unlearn this technique!
