Hi there, hoping someone can clear this up for me!
my student is currectly studying grade 6 piano. In group C there is a piece which uses a lot of grace notes and I'm looking for advice on the correct timing of:

a crotchet proceeded by three (small print) semiquavers, the last crossed through.

Is this open to interpretation?

All advice welcome! thanks!

Is it the one called "Three Calling Birds"? I think that's it anyway...I will go and have a look for the music!

Ooops! I should have said "Four Calling Birds" blush.gif laugh.gif

I think I'd just play that as quickly "on the beat" as possible the same as the other grace notes, giving them all the same value, but they need to be quite clear as well and not sound muffled (the bird song thing smile.gif )

I hope that makes sense! It probably is open to interpretation as to exactly how quickly to play them. It's a lovely piece.
