I'm getting so paranoid I actually thought it was true but then I realised he is only the size of the middle section of the bassoon...awe.

Still, would prefer something funny bordering on mildy rude to laugh at! ph34r.gif

The form is for a new contract job. I am meeting the person from the agency tommorow and as it is for a non teaching position in a school on a contract basis the paperwork will be endless I guess. Anyway they are hiring 20 people so I should at least have a chance of getting the position. Don't yet know the duration or pay rate and all I know is that the school is in London and will start this summer sometime.

Anyway form is completed and signed, all I need now is to make copies of my documents for the person tommorow. This is using up a lot of my expensive printer ink!

I also had a long form for a school position a few months back, only schools require forms no other organisation requires more than a CV and job interview! Thing is all the information on the form is on my CV anyway!

Feeling very sad as my first EVER piano student has stopped lessons as of tonight... I have taught her since she was 10, and she is now 17 and planning to go to uni to do dentistry - some of you met her and heard her play at the recent Scottish Forum Event... Bit gutted really, although I totally understand, wish her all the best, and will of course stay in contact... sad.gif

Getting worried. Been tortured by G5 Sinfonia for months now, only to find that DS1 is now playing it all summer holidays for his G5 flute and when I called Howarths to enquire about second-hand bassoons they put me on hold to the sound of Sinfonia! blink.gif Now was that a sign to "step away from the bassoon purchase" or "go for it"? unsure.gif

You know MNW flying around on caffeine and bringing yourself down on Alcohol isn't really that good for you... sounds like you have become rather good at it smile.gif

Take care not to give yourself a rebound headache - bad news.

It sounds though that your sister is even better at consuming Alcohol though than you are (something not to be proud of)

It isn't my bassoon, it belongs to the music service...and anyway I still want to keep learning bassoon! Also, I found this on the internet:
QUOTE

The 10 Commandments of the Bassoon

1.Thou shalt play well, or thou shall be hit with thy own Bassoon.
2.Thou shalt play IN TUNE and with the correct embouchure
3.Thou must worketh on scales at least thrice a fortnight.
4.Thou must constantly increase their range from a low Bb to a HIGH D
5.One must immerse thyself in the art of Bassoonery.
6.One must be friends with a French Horn player, for Bassoons and French Horns have been friends since the beginning of time.
7.Thou must tryeth to get along with trombonists. They have been known to come to your aid in your time of greatest need.
8.One must appreciate the sound of an oboe.
9.If an individual calleth your Bassoon an oboe, you are legally entitled to curse at the person and hit them with the bell of your Bassoon.
10.Thou shalt make reeds constantly, and complain about the tribulations of making reeds.

See number 6?! tongue.gif Actually, I've seen several versions of this with slightly different rules, one of which was 'the low Bb shalt be thy favourite note on the instrument'.
Anyway, off you go and tell your son to learn top D muahaha.gif

It's when people refer to my Cor Anglais as an Oboe I really object!!! Then say like an Oboe, but bigger -look this one has laid an egg and has it's own drinking straw!

Given a bassoon looks like a bunch of fire-wood - Oh but I forgot that's why the Italians called them Faggotti - no offense meant it is a wonderful sound, and the Rite of Spring just would not be the Rite of Spring without the Bassoon Solo at the start!

"This is the symphony, that Schubert wrote and never finished..."

Or the allemande from the Bach Partita for solo flute:

Bassoon solo from 'Rite of Spring' : ' I'm not an English Horn, I'm not an English Horn, it's far too high for me, I'm not an English Horn. No. '

"This is the symphony, that Schubert wrote and never finished..."

Or the allemande from the Bach Partita for solo flute:
