I wonder how many people knew that skylarks were rockets?

" ++++++++ "
carried exploding grenades, ejected at regular intervals, and
were used to investigate upper atmospheric conditions.
Due to its small mass and low thrust, the original version " ++++++++ " had to be launched from a 25 m (82 ft), tilting tower to overcome the effects of the wind.
Not many people know that
no prizes for knowing this!
I'll have to take your word for this Saxfan - my memory doesn't go back anything like as far as yours!
But you're a bit behind the times - these days skylarks are more like guided missiles, they have precision aim, able to fire without hurting anything or anyone except whatever or whoever tries to do harm to them
