That sounds a bit sudden! What happened?

My Grandad just took delivery of a mobility scooter, and arrived on it a short while ago. I was then invited to have a go. Don't knock it 'till you've tried it!!!

Those things are lethal!! I used to work in a day centre for people with physical disabilities and was almost run over many a time!

When going out in your car, it's always best to make sure you have enough fuel to reach your destination Still, the walk to the petrol station with my little can did me good

A man I met through work (at a meeting I hasten to add!) remembered me and asked someone else I used to work with if I was still in the area. This fella is opening a new residential home for people with Learning Disabilites and is "very interested" in talking to me about the managers job! Have e-mailed him my CV so I hear something soon

*More money= being able to start my "Moving to Yorkshire Fund"!!

Came home to find a message on the answer phone to say my daughter has got a place in the music option class at the local secondary school in September for the trombone This means she will spend two afternoons a week at the music school and everything music related, except her cello lesson, will now take place in school time. (Which given that secondary school hours are 8.00 to 5.00 is a good thing).

A pupil of mine this evening was having trouble with whole-tone scales. So I suggested we worked them out a note at a time.
'Play a low C', I said. She did.
'Now play the note a whole tone up.'

She apparently did, but the two notes sounded the same. I thought perhaps a spring had gone, so I pressed a few keys. Nothing seemed out of place. I gave the flute back to her, and she tried again. D and C still sounded the same. So I tried the flute. Same thing happened.

At this point, my pupil was staring at the flute. 'What's that inside the foot?' she said.

I saw something white, pulled it out....




.....and it was the cheque for her half-term's lessons, put there by Mum so she remembered to give it to me.

So, next time low notes don't work on your flute, check for cheques.

I was just listening to Beethoven's Waldstein Sonata...my mum poked her head round my door and said 'you were playing this the other day'...

Like to see how some folk take themselves so so seriously, quite amusing really.

hmmmm...when practising a piece on the piano last night all the notes where coming out wrong...I thought it was my fingers hitting the wrong keys but having read this I now think it might be that someone has hidden a few cheques in my piano while I wasn't watching!!!!
