I should be mucking out my studio ready for the big day tomorrow.
Have people been consuming nectarines in your studio, Petra? rolleyes.gif

Someone yesterday believed that I had a pet ferret. biggrin.gif Well, I do, but that isn't really the point.

Sounds ominous, Petra!

My neighbours have been having an extention built and the dust has wandered into my studio. I need it to look clean and tidy for tomorrow's start of the term. I have books to sort and the floor to mop , some more art stuff to put into the new art studio upstairs and windows to polish. No nectarines yet, or ferrets. smile.gif

My dad just brought porridge up again, so to speak. His latest reason why I should eat it is that its merits have just been discussed on TV. Would it be reasonable of me not to feel foolish when comparing myself to someone who has been watching a programme about porridge?... rolleyes.gif

No offence intended to my father's fellow porridge viewers, naturally. ph34r.gif rolleyes.gif

Apparantly the world could end on Wednesday.
Theres a 1 in 50,000,000 chance that a black hole will be formed by some Swedish people doing some experiment things and we're all gonna get sucked in and die. smile.gif

Firstly, get it right - they're SWISS tongue.gif

Secondly, does it matter if the world turns into a black hole - it's not as if we'd know about it wink.gif

I don't wanna die huh.gif I've got things I wanna do before I die, and two nights is not enough tongue.gif

But at least we'd all go at the same time and no one would be mourning smile.gif

Yeah, maybe we can live on the other side of the black hole, breathing air thats not there and living in darkness smile.gif

I sound like a right idiot smile.gif

What odds, a 1p. bet at the bookies would return half a million pounds.

Mind you how would we spend it if it came in correct, lol.

The Cyclotron at CERN is actually under both Switzerland and France, as part of it corsses the border underground . My wife (a physics teacher) is possibly planning a school trip there next year. I wonder how safe she will be ?

I saw someone in town today with a Wicked (the musical) umbrella that kinda looked like a witch's hat. I had such an urge to run up and steal it ph34r.gif But that might not have worked too well in the practically deserted high street with me wearing a bright pink hoody tongue.gif

I went on a school trip there this July. I think we were the last vistors allowed down in the L.H.C. before it was completely shut off to be allowed to cool down. biggrin.gif

The LHC crosses between Switzerland and France, but CERN itself is almost entirely in Switzerland, and the people working there come from all over Europe.

At my sons' school the physics teacher was asked to talk to the boys to explain to them all why this wouldn't be the end of the world.

Lucky physics teacher! There was quite a bit on the BBC news tonight about it - though as my husband noticed, the word "hadron" was never mentioned. It's quite clever to do a feature on the Large Hadron Collider without ever mentioning its name! tongue.gif

My oboe teacher does the same thing with "Au Clair de la lune."
I think this, rather than him playing a fast virtuoso piece is a real indication of how far I still have to go.

I do feel quite upset..

England are playing tonight and the normal viewing public cannot see the game live, or even highlights on the telly later.

What a con, looks like it'll be updates on the computer ar maybe radio 5 live.

Still, all the same... COME ON ENGLAND.

thanks for noticing F#minor... I hadn't noticed how many I had posted overall, let alone today - but I have had hassle to distract me this morning.
Never mind...

And I was out at orchestra this evening so I might not tip over the score...

as to congratulations, thanks .... but not sure how many people will see. They might see your post. But all those (a lot I am told from the horse's mouth) who use 'ignore' can still see the score can't they?
