Cogitating is a brill word... Reminds me of Codger... which when i first heard it made me laugh quite a lot... its now one of my favourite words

oh, no, eltruf isn't anything as far as I know - just thought it sounded fun.
oh wait though - el truf - erm - a little known variety of fungus found mainly in the Iberian peninsula.

Why did the jam come out pink?
I think it's something to do with the acididity of the berries reacting with the sugar. Goosberry pies are quite often pink inside for the same reason, if I remember correctly.
