It was sitting on the kitchen table waiting for me when I got home. It's sounding very different to the two recorders I've been playing for the last month (one of them is plastic and the other is a very hard wood, whereas this one is olive), so that's what's hit me more than anything, but I think it's ok - it doesn't sound poorly anyway!

Yesterday there was a very long top title in Parents called "Does anyone have a talented younger child...etc" but it had been shortened to just show the first few words and the last respondent. So it read
Does anyone have a.... plonkee

I thought it must be a new kind of musical instrument

Sorry plonkee!

I nearly failed mine. I took it at a German school (in England) and it was in English (obviously) but I had no idea what was going on.
They gave us some papers with the course or something on it. I was going to ask my parents for help but they were both away on business so that wasn't an option.
I just remember having no idea what was goin on
My brother failed his

Never took another one.

'Yes, I did, about halfway across the junction.'

Barry, honestly !

I never took one. My daughter failed her cycling proficiency test aged 10 because the examiner didn't see her look over her shoulder at one point and put on the form that she omitted to do it. She claimed he was talking to someone else at the time. She never bothered taking another one.

My daughter has had her arm in plaster for the past four and a half weeks. This hasn't stopped her playing the trombone in the junior wind band at her school. When I picked her up yesterday she said to me gleefully: "You know what Mummy, today one of the saxophonists had his leg in plaster."
