There are no such directions in Space. They are specific to our planet, though it would be possible to use them on other planets by common consent.

All planets in our solar system have a North and a South pole - all have rotational poles, obviously only those with magnetic fields have magnetic poles!
You can go to galactic north or south, as the galaxy also has poles (rotational). The 'North Star' (Polaris) is pretty much bang on galactic north (it's close enough for polar alignment using a home telescope, but probably a bit out if you're using something a bit swisher, like Hubble).
But if you were in intergalactic space, you'd be out of luck. Or, you'd have to reference everything to the Milky Way Galactic North (or south)

I should really be doing revision, but I can't really concentrate when my room's a tip, so will clear that up first, but if I'm going to do that, I should really post the letter that's been sitting on my desk for the last couple of weeks, and in the mean time, I'm hungry...

Anyway, saw an opera today and in the dance scenes all the dancers dressed differently and I found this really unorganised/uncoordinated (compared to say in ballet where everybody dresses uniformly). Not quite sure why since in real life people do dress differently...

Ahem. Don't mind me.

This person is really horrible. We have a rather chequered history in the first place, but the person has caused more problems to me over the last year than anyone else could ever dream of doing. She has been hugely mallicious towards those closest to me as well. What really upsets me is that people at college think she's lovely, because she hasn't yet done anything to them that shows her true colours. Thus, she's fairly popular. She somehow manages to have a finger in everything, and somehow knows the same people as me and is always with them. This makes it hard for me to speak to people. I could go on forever about her and get angrier and angrier, so I think I'll just call it a day now.

If I had a lovely phonecall with someone on, say, Sunday evening, and they said that they didn't want to forget the amazing afternoon we had on Saturday because it was so good, and that it's a shame there is such a distance between us, would you have expected to hear from them since?!

It's only Tuesday. Maybe they're waiting for you to make the next move, or maybe they just want to play it cool after that phonecall, to see if you feel the same way?

I've just logged onto Amazon, to be greeted by 'Bestsellers in Knitting Books' in the middle of my recommendations. And it's no' just one book, no! There's a whole section of it...in the middle of MY recommendations. My recommendations should contain things like Violin books, old children's pony stories, obscure quantum physics books...so where on earth did knitting come from?!
