Why is it apparently beyond the wit of my postman to push the post through my letterbox rather than leaving it sticking half out, especially when it's pouring with rain?

Oooh! I've just noticed that this was post 2222, and that I posted it at 02.22p.m. 22 is my 'lucky' number

Thats really weird. I have something similar, I often glance at the time when it just happens to be 11.11 or 23.11, and yes sometimes 22.22 also !!

Yes, I have absolutely the same thing with the number 22!

Today I got up, went to work, got to the edge of town and the road was shut (presumably due to flooding).
Alternative route 1 was via backroads, which I decided would probably be in a very wet state.
Alternative route 2 was going all the way across town, picking up the motorway, getting off at the wrong side of my work town, getting across that town - time consuming and probably double the mileage!
So I took alternative 3 - work at home for an hour or so, then try again. Very sensible as it turned out that the motorway in route 2 was all slow/stopped! And then in that hour, I got all sorts of people telling me that the road was v.bad where it had been shut and loads of people were having difficulty getting in. Then my manager suggested I stay at home and work here for the day. All well and good.
Had a wonderfully productive morning. Walked round to the postbox at lunchtime. Got back. The postman came. And brought me a new book.
And now the bar of chocolate in my fridge is singing to me.
And the lack of anyone in the house but me means I'm ideally situated for some recorder playing.
La-la-la, I am working, honest I am...

My tiny wee village in Birmingham (it is actually a village...in a city) apparently has an orchestra. One that's been going for donkeys years and has completely escaped my attention for the 24 years I've lived here.
Shame I can't play with them yet, but it's nice to know, if slightly alarming that they've hidden themselves away for quite so long.

I survived Friday 13th relatively well. Despite having rubbish week what with one thing and another and being completely sleep deprived, nothing bad really happened yesterday.
I might just add that my family has a really bad record for friday 13ths, especially in February, so I was really expecting *something* to happen.
I had a bit of a panic that I might have managed to delete my physics coursework by pulling out the memory stick too soon, but it seems to still be there.

I remember someone doing this years back on the radio...might have been the Virgin breakfast show back when it was Russ and Jono (it was almost certainly before I left school, i.e. before 1994).
The best ones they had were from the ITV News and the London Tonight theme tunes, which of course are likely different now.
But you could perfectly fit in "Come and get the news from London Tonight!" in their opening music.
And the main ITV news they got "News! The News! It really is The News! Possibly with Dermot Murnaghan..."
