Nothing. Hindemith is nice.

I nearly chose his "Echo" for my Grade 4 flute exam list B. Just wasn't sure I would get all the rests and entries right under exam conditions - but I really enjoyed playing it after the exam . Which piece is it you are bringing to Leeds for me "have a look at" Flossie?

The first movement of the flute sonata. I've been wanting to try it with the piano for ages, but my teacher doesn't really play piano - she can manage easy chords on one hand but that's all.

I'll probably murder it because I haven't played it for months, but it is a lovely piece.

(I'm not a huge Hindemith fan, but I really like the first movement of the flute sonata )

Can one effectively practise clarinet on 2 (large) glasses of wine ????


It was my intention to practise this evening but spent a couple of hours this afternoon entertaining the kids in a local beer garden complete with play area and bouncy castle...


Of course a couple of glasses of wine were obligatory....

Only if you are thin and stand very still whilst playing!

But seriously...... ????

You'll be able to practice (assuming it wasn't two buckets!), though whether it will be particularly effective I don't know, but does that really matter?

I know that one!!!! Actually I did sound good after a few at kareoke - called lack of inhibition, threfore no nerves. AND those who told my I sounded good were wearing beer goggles (such a thing as beer ears ????)

I'd much rather be complimented on my voice in church though I have to admit....


For the record, I opted out tonight. Maybe tomorrow after the seaside trip will be more productive and then there's always Monday morning too before my friend turns up for a bbq lunch (more wine too probably... ) I'm beginning to sound like a drunkard!!!! I don't actually drink that much usually. 2 or 3 glasses a wek at most and often none. !!!! (just to set the record straight eh? )

My dad once got a karioke... I'll leave the rest to your imagination!

It would have been hard to match the old one - one of my favourite programmes ever.

I'm being watched by a collared dove. I'm sitting on the sofa, typing, and there's a bench outside my living room window. A dove has been perched on the back of the bench, only a foot or so from the window, for about half an hour. If I move, he flies away, but comes back really quickly. It's a bit disconcerting, but he's definitely doing the sideways watching thing

I'm very fond of my next door neighbours - but WHY do they always decide to sit in their garden when I finally get around to doing some playing?

Well... actually, it's happened before and she always does insist on me paying a reduced fee for a rearranged lesson... I try to protest, but...
At least I've never missed any for that reason.

I have 'All the Small Things' running somewhere on my computer (you can hear it loud and clear!), but it's not open in any program (there's nothing in task manager that could be playing it). It's really weird!

I was out in London earlier, mostly for the purpose of buying music.

But I was reading a book in a shop, about running.

It said : 'do not jog on the motorway, it can be dangerous'

A kitten has fallen asleep with her head on my arm. It's starting to go to sleep, and I'm typing with one hand.

I'm deciding whether to shift her and risk waking her up, or let her sleep...

I managed to slip my arm out, she's still asleep, phew.

Flute music is much easier to play on my flute than it is on my violin.

It is somewhat disconcerting that the last lot of proper writing I did was my first year transfer report.

Really? I'd never have guessed...

Wait for it! Kittens grow up. A large ginger and white tom is sitting on my keyboard and just daring me to ask him ever so politely to move!

That's a relief - she probably has a busy day today with important meetings and suchlike.

I just loved that little dino electronic pet, Pleo. He's so cute, I want one

Yeah, she is a little monkey. So far in the few weeks we've had her, she's...

Fallen down the hole in my attic bedroom- nearly two metres, they were playing chase, and she tried to jump through the material on the banister, thinking there was floor on the other side . She sat there dazed for a few seconds, then carried on

She developed a limp- as a result from the fall probably.

She climbs up the curtains and then as a way to get down, jumps onto the net curtain with her claws, and slides down as it rips

Then we were all having a barbecue, she got tangled up in a big hole, and was dangling suspended with it loosely wrapped around her tummy. Luckily I went in, and found the other two biting the material trying to free her, and managed to untangle her.

She's been checked over by the vet at injection appointments, and is fine despite all of this.

Anyway, enough about my kitten stories. I get a bit carried away...
