NOt to me, Barry, but I say, if you fancy a hot air balloon ride, or to do something special within your financial reach, then go for it and do it now.
I just need to find some energy to do this now, and will make a start by having an earlyish night. smile.gif

I always wondered where my life was lacking - now I fathom that it is a shortage of death-defying stunts and high-octane pursuits that has contributed to my deprivation all this time! biggrin.gif I'm not sure I'd know where to begin a search for planes to jump out of! Having said that, I'd probably only consider it if I realised that I didn't actually want to go to Tunisia anyway, for instance, and I'd have to be pretty biased against the nation for which I was heading, as me vertigo kicks in upon reaching the peak of our step ladder when changing lightbulbs and such...

Still, I would heartily advocate that you jump in with both feet while the going is good, Bazza! biggrin.gif

Fortunately for me our children were all born before they invented white knuckle rides, so I didn't have that problem, but I know I would have been the same as Barry over it. As a result, we have the two older lads who hate these rides, but the youngest, Edward, is an adrenaline junky! His idea of living was to go to New Zealand and jump off or out of everything that they offered. Still, he comes in very handy when our grandchildren say "will you take me on that ride please grandad?". laugh.gif

For flutes, there is the Flutewise day in London.

For saxophones, there is the Royal Northern Sax Day in Manchester.

There isn't really an equivalent I know of for clarinets. There are clarinet choir playdays, and single reed days that include saxes as well, but nothing like the two above events for clari...

*thinks*

My cat definitely has staff. And, at the moment, The Hump. My husband had a meeting after work yesterday, so I went round to visit a friend...got home at 8pm, 2 hours after normal cat dinner time...my first duty was of course to feed my lady...but she made it clear that such service was unacceptable and wouldn't talk to either of us last night. Nor this morning. Curled up on the sofa, not getting up for breakfast, and staying defiantly with her back to us.

We'll they're out. A bit mixed, but largely what I expected. smile.gif Most of the students whon I expected to get 1st have (there's just 2 who should have been capable of 1sts but have dropped to a 2:1). A couple of them have managed to pull a 2:1 out of the bag when I didn't expect them to, and a couple who could have got 2:1s if they'd put the work in have dropped to a 2:2. Unusually, there aren't any 3rds, ordinary degrees or DipHEs this year (at least not amongst the 3rd years - haven't checked the 2nd years yet).
