Nice. N'ice cream biggrin.gif

Normal isn't a good word! a positive one I suppose, though... and novelty is good. D has a multitude of good and bad I think - direct, dynamic, darling, dear, dimple...
My friend's name begins with N too and I happened to share my riveting thought with her... ph34r.gif
N'ice cream... an interesting one.
Maizie
Nuzzle. There aren' t many better words than that biggrin.gif Nuzzling while eating N'ice Cream.

On the other hand: Nixon. Not a nice image to go with Nuzzling, unless, of course, you are talking about my gorgeous little black rat named Nixon biggrin.gif

don't like the interval from A# (middle of the stave) down to B# on sax.. mad.gif keep working on it but it's not even a draw yet, I am losing huh.gif

katyjay
How does it compare for difficulty with the interval from Bb down to C?

How does it compare for difficulty with the interval from Bb down to C?

the same!
I think the problem (this at least is the theory I am working on) is the fact that B#/C is one of the low notes of the sax, and I don't always find it easy to make them sound cleanly, neatly etc when I want them to.

Although I know my embouchure should be relaxed throughout, I don't think it is. Maybe another glass of wine will help me chill.

I guess it's a matter of doing lots of falling intervals that land up on those notes
Hope I can crack this before February - or it's back to the drawing board at short notice rolleyes.gif
katyjay
I know it's, enharmonically speaking, the same interval. But sometimes the labelling has a psychological effect on getting the notes. I find that at times on the recorder particularly.

yes, I realise that, and it's a good thought, thank you.
But I am limited in fingering, so I may have to re-think it. There are actually a few fingerings for the first note, but only one seems to make sense - and only one fingering for the low C ---

I suspect it may be just hard work!
thanks ...

I may end up emailing a sax player I know (hoping her broadband is working!)

laugh.gif that made me laugh! My dad used to answer the phone home with 'R*** N*** here, how may I help' as he was a banker and used to saying that at work.

Superflute ph34r.gif hope you feel better soon.

My friend's dad answers the phone with "Battersey dog's home". Her brother answers the phone, and you say "is N____ there please?" he says "yes." You wait for five minutes, and then say "may I please SPEAK to her". At that point he goes and fetches her.

Is this the place for someone to help me out? Is it just me that thinks this is more and more utter lunacy...

In the House of Lords there was talk of the possibility of the Government telling sandwich manufacturers to use thin sliced bread instead of thick sliced bread - in the "fight against obesity"! Control freak-ism going even madder?

And now a primary school head in Wales "has banned home-cooked mince pies and other seasonal fayre from being sold at the annual Christmas fete for fear a child could have an allergic reaction to the ingredients."
Maybe the school should have a sign over the door "Beware, may contain a nut!"

just found this too:

"A Devon primary school head has defended a decision to ban pupils from wearing angel wings during their nativity play."

Health and safety hazard it seems grrrrr....

A while ago my local Sainsburys changed its bread slicer from medium-sliced to thick-sliced. I assumed they did it in order to make people get through the loaf faster and buy another one sooner, but then I tend to be a bit cynical about these things tongue.gif The main reason for doing my shopping at Sainsburys was the bread (Harvest Grain, boootiful biggrin.gif), but now I've discovered that a local bakery does bread which is just as boootiful but they thin-slice it. So now I don't have any particular need to go to Sainsburys, I find it more convenient to shop elsewhere. Isn't it wacko.gif how important the thickness of a slice of bread is! laugh.gif

How strange blink.gif I got asked for ID the other day in focus when I was buying windscreen washer fluid. I normally would have been flattered but I didn't have any ID on me - luckily she sold it to me. The fact that I had just come from work and was wearing a suit, carrying a briefcase had my car keys in my hand and was paying by credit card must have helped. Plus, I've been over 18 for more than a decade now biggrin.gif

Still not sure what she thought I was going to do with it - drink it perhaps?

Well I almost managed to be clever yesterday.

I remembered that I'd be going to London in the evening.
I remembered to check the weather forecast.
I remembered to put a plastic bag in my pocket to put my wet umbrella in.

I remembered that my umbrella was in the door pocket of the car....about ten minutes after I left the car in the station car park and got on the train.

Still, a plastic bag makes a good improvised rain bonnet when it's teemng down and you're desperate....
