Same! But it's cats. And two lots of medicine each

All done biggrin.gif

I hold the kittens down in a towel, while mum shoves a syringe in their mouth. We have antibiotics and paste to stop vomiting. The antibiotics are twice a day, and paste 3 times a day. Luckily there are only 2 kittens, and they don't bite, but they do huddle into me and look up at me and meow pitifully unsure.gif . Only 2 more days and 10 more doses to go! rolleyes.gif

They are wub.gif they were all really sick, and wouldn't eat for 5 days. It's so good to see them all bouncing around the house again.

I still can't believe your cat licks the medicine off the spoon!!!! I bet it tastes nice laugh.gif
nicki_flute
Awwww...have you got any photos of them?

Trust me, if the medicine is anything other than this then they hate it. Getting them to take pills is a 4-person operation. Apparently the medicine is honey based so cats like it according to the vet.

Also...I am confused. I am trying to sort out which activities to take on next term, but I am in danger of taking on too much.

I hope DUOS is still on your list? I suppose you need to be extra careful not to take on too much in your last year.
nicki_flute
It is definitely on my list. The problem lies when auditioning - you have to say whether you want to audition for one orchestra or both. I'd probably only really have time for one, but then I am cutting down my chances.

Pondering, pondering...

Do I go and visit the cycle shop in the town where I live? Because it would be nice to see what they are like. And from what I know they are a proper bike shop who deal with proper bikes (as opposed to the other 'bike shop' I pass on my commute, who are a bit more pile it high/sell it cheap and seem to resent any intrusion on their time I make by wanting to, e.g. buy something).
But the shop in town isn't one of the shops I can get to through my work cyclescheme, so if I were to buy a new bike from them it would be at full price.

Or, do I go to a distant decent bike shop - which requires a car or train journey - meaning I can get a new bike at ~40% discount because I can use the cyclescheme there. Even though if I have any return-to-seller problems, I have to then travel again.

Of course, I could buy the bike cheaply through the scheme, and then go to my local shop for servicing, etc, once I have passed the 'shiny new bike' and 'return to seller' stage. But if I expect there to be a bike shop in my town to use, shouldn't I support them by buying the bike there? Forthcoming inheritance means that I don't have to be quite so distantly dreamy about the possibility of a bicycle upgrade!

It's quite a nice dilemma to have, actually.
(Trek 7.5 FX WSD, I think, for anyone interested).
Juniper
You probably have, but just chacking, have you been one the cyclescheme website to see which stores in your area are participating? I was very lucky and a shop about 200 yards from where are live take part and I got myself a very lovely Trek bike. biggrin.gif

Good luck and happy cycling

Yes, that's how I know the one in town doesn't participate; and my nearest proper bike shops participating are some distance away (have a few very local car shops which sell v.cheap bikes, plus one bike shop but where they don't sell anything as expensive as what I'm looking at).

Thing is, I know if I go to one of the participating shops and buy through the scheme, they are bound to charge RRP for everything. Whereas if I go to the local shop with a pile of cash, you can bet I won't be paying list price! Though probably still would be cheaper to go for the discount version through a participating shop, it's just if I can be bothered to go all that way esp. for the 'two week tune up' and things like that!
Just worked out I'd need bike, rack, pedals and bottle cage, so round the voucher up to the next value smile.gif
And, the bike I'm looking at, the 2009 version is really nice, but the 2010 version is Bright Red so I may have to act now!

Ooh, very bright!!! also remember that at the end of the scheme if you want to keep the bike you have to (buy it back at the current market value). This doesn't work out very much, mine was £29 for a £500 voucher but worth adding to the equation smile.gif

I have to be at a recorder lesson in less than 12 hours. In that time I somehow need to fit in a week's worth of practice (I've been away, then got a bit caught up in results etc), gathering up recorders and scattered music, an hour of travelling to said lesson, oh and some sleep would be good too! wacko.gif

I am exhausted. Just spent the whole night in the imax cinema in London, doing the "Lord of the Rings all-nighter" ph34r.gif It started at quarter past midnight then ran all three films with a 30 minute break in between each (tea and coffee free in the intervals). It was sooooooo long. 1st film was 12:15-3:15, 2nd was 3:45-6:45, 3rd was 7:15-10:15 wacko.gif I think I got about 30 minutes sleep. Then McDonalds and leftover sweets for breakfast, mmmmm ill.gif

Now I'm off to get a couple of hours of kip sleep.gif

Then it's back up to London at 4pm to go to the BBC centre and be in the audience for this new comedy thing. I love it all! But it all just happens to be on the same weekend rolleyes.gif
