I've got 40 fairy cakes in the oven...
That's a lot of cakes! Are you having a party?

No! Some friends are coming over tonight. Recipe said it made 24...not quite sure how I got 40 out of the mixture

Did you use real fairies? Did you have to gas them first or did you cook them alive?

No fairies were harmed in the making of this product

I did some baking this morning - choux buns, last time I made them they were perfect. This time they turned into a stodgy horrible mess (I think it's probably do to the different temperature control in my dad's state of the art fan assisted oven and my temperamental old fashioned gas oven). The buns ended up in the bin - I've now got a mix of whipped cream, raspberries and white chocolate that I prepared as a filling to find something to do with.
Choux buns can be very temperamental. I made profiteroles once and had to make them twice as the first time they were just flat. We have a gas oven too, I was amazed when I first used a fan oven! No turning it on twenty minutes before you want it.
Could you use that filling as a filling for a sponge cake?
