To be, or not to be: that is the question.

Is that there are no reasons why you should do something, a good enough reason for why you shouldn't?

You should do things purely because you want to. There's no sane reason for jumping out of a perfectly functional plane but I did it 3 times, for example tongue.gif

Ooh, is it fun? I've always wanted to... I'm a wee bit of an adrenaline junkie, if a little bit of a chicken adrenaline junkie. I've only ever really been skiing... and paragliding... but I love rollercoasters! Especially detonator at Thorpe Park. The best ride EVER. Or saw. But detonator is amazing, because you feel like you're actuallygoing to die, and you literally can't stop yourself screaming, but then you hit the bottom and get a headrush and think "phoar, I didn't die!"

I'm thinking of doing bungee jumping for my birthday this year... if I'm allowed to blush.gif

What's skydiving like?

You're right, Detonator is the best ride for the initial "shock" at TP IMO. The rest of them just don't do that much for me.

I think someone else mentioned a while ago (tamsin?) that if you're at risk of retinal detachment, you shouldn't do it.

What's retinal detachment? The bit in your eye comes off from something? Ahh well, I don't think that would happen to me. I'm pretty healthy, apart from a dodgy kidney, missing teeth, eczema and blackouts. They would be ok, wouldn't they?

I'd love to go skydiving, my aunt went. I'm not old enough yet sad.gif but aparently you can do indoor skydiving over an air chute... hmmm laugh.gif

Isn't skydiving the opposite of flying? If you were flying you wouldn't be in danger of splattering yourself on the ground. tongue.gif

Once you hit terminal velocity (well, close to it), it doesn't feel like you are falling anymore, hence "close to flying" smile.gif

This is closer to flying, actually.. scary though!

Dang. Oh well, only a year to go!!! In fact, because my birthday is in December, I'm going to be 16 next year, even though I'm 14 now. I've been going around telling all my friends/relatives that next year, I can legally have s-e-x. Ohh the looks on their faces, priceless laugh.gif

It would have raised even more eyebrows if you'd said "legal, but not that it matters as I've done plenty of it already!" laugh.gif

Do not say that btw unless you want to cause widespread panic!

And I have to be sensible by saying that just because something is legal, it doesn't mean you should do it for the sake of it, no matter what your peers say! smile.gif That sort of conflicts with my earlier post about jumping out of planes but you get what I mean!

Yeah, yeah, yeah ok smile.gif

Hehe, I've already shocked a lot of my friends' parents... I remember one friend had a bonfire party, and it was my first "meeting" with all of my friends parents. We were all waiting by the road for the last friend to turn up, and as she turned up, all of the parents came down to check on us, and asked what we were doing. I replied "Oh, don't worry, I've taught them all how to play chicken. We're having great fun!"

Tee hee. I was amazed at how they believed me, and how shocked they all were. Fun stuffff smile.gif

I used to be the same, I was a nightmare... I remember on several occasions giving my little brother a fork before my mum came in to the room so she'd see him sitting there by the plug socket. I nearly gave her heart attacks, poor woman.

Making a Water Wasp Trap - Cut off the top portion of a 2-liter plastic bottle at the shoulder. Fill the bottom half of the cut bottle with water. Throw away the screw top. Use jam to coat the neck of the bottle, and inverting it set it back into the bottle. Use tape to hold the inverted half in place. The wasps, attracted by the jam, will go down the neck of the bottle, and will fall into the water and drown.
