Younger daughter played a piece in her piano teacher's concert this afternoon. Elder daughter was invited to join a (rather good) brass group last week and had her first rehearsal this afternoon.

This evening we had two wildly excited children , each trying to out-talk the other about how much they enjoyed their music this afternoon

Excellent stuff - our Waitrose now sells 'Blacksticks White' as well, which is very scrummy too!

My husband an I are taking my daughter and son and daughter's friend to see the new Disney film "Princess and the Frog" tomorrow as a birthday treat. (slightly early as easier to arrange it in school hols than first week back) I'm quite looking forward to it We are having tea out after.

The piano at LooneyTunes' Cardiff do was a very nice Bosendorfer

Stripping wallpaper off is really quite good fun

I fail to understand how DIY can be seen as fun.

Decorating can be a good laugh actually... I have a few stories from the past that would shock!

Me and my mam and my best friend + a big bucket of soapy water and sponges was NOT anybody's brightest idea there was a lot of sponge throwing going on, but never mind, we got the wallpaper off in the end

And ended up with an indoor pool?

Well, not quite, but we were pretty close it's my brother's bedroom as well, so we had to have some sort of restraint to avoid TOTALLY ruining it

Last night....
I was playing piano yesterday at my teacher's place (strangely enough, even though it was her place, it looked exactly like mine!).
So here I was playing some Mozart when suddenly there was a knock on the door. I went to open it and there standing in front of me was a young Beethoven. He walked straight to the piano, looked at the music I had on the piano and when he realised I was playing Mozart, he got angry and stormed off into another room.
I then felt a draft. I walked into the kitchen and the back door was ajar. As I opened it properly I was faced with a young Mozart who gave me a big smile and told me he was so happy to hear I was playing his music.
And then I woke up!!!

hmmmm...I think I might have to give music a break for a little while and take a break and go on holiday!!

So what are you playing on Saturday? We'll have to see if the composer wants to come along for a listen

What a weird dream!! I'll be playing a piece by Peter Chester on Saturday (an unknown composer!). I don't know what he looks like so wouldn't recognise him if he walks in!

Hmm, quite a big trumpetty thing plus first ever piano performance in the same week wasn't a clever move. I have both instruments sat here looking at me, which one to tackle first??

Hmm, well that would be the trumpetty thing, however managed to book a lesson with my piano teacher for tomorrow afternoon so I can be confident for Saturday so technically that's first. Didn't help when they added two new numbers at last night's rehearsal and I was told, and I quote "just add some brass in there somewhere!" Yeah cos it's that simple! Oh I shouldn't complain, I like a challenge

I've had that before, except substitute 'brass' for 'reed'...
