Don't suppose anyone on here likes Lord of the Rings and would like to take my two stalls tickets off me for this for face value (or a close reasonable offer) on Fri 23rd? I can't go as I'm heading to Dyrham Park...

Originally my cousin was buying them from me but can't go now... argh!

A plethora of threads on this Forum lie at our disposal and whilst some of us are approaching in years the number of white keys, as relative newcomers we have but witnessed few of the arguments discussions for ourselves. On several occasions, some matter has occurred to me and rather than start a new thread, I have done a search to see what pearls of wisdom our forum forefathers have handed down in days of yore.

I must add, that as a result, I have indeed sometimes forgone the temptation to revive old warhorses, yet I am buoyed by the thought that I can, on occasion, bring a new and untried slant to some previously well-trodden thread.

So I thread carefully! biggrin.gif

Ha reminds me of being in a pub buying a drink from me and my friend, and the bar-lady said "you'll have to sit outside"...it took me a while to clock what she meant, so I looked at the bar-lady, nodded towards my friend and said "she's 26" (she's also 4'11" which might be the reason for it).

Anyway, I have got home today to a leaflet from Labour (yesterday there was a leaflet from the Lib Dems). This is just general unaddressed through the letter box stuff.
But today there is a letter addressed to my husband, but it's from our current MP selling him the Conservative party. Not just a random unsolicited, but actually addressed to my husband.

It'll be fun when he gets home biggrin.gif

We were driving along a lane this morning and I commented to Misterjay that there were road signs at the side of the road for tracked vehicles.

"All the times we've been in this area," I said to Misterjay, "we've never seen a tank on any of these roads."

Whereupon we rounded the next bend and behold there were two of them in front of us. With "L" plates on.

I'm sure that girls are far more self-conscious about being particularly tall. About 6 years ago, as a Y7 tutor in school, I was allotted two girls who were both on their way to becoming 6' even then! That there were two of them helped them no end and they were clearly glad to have to look up to me, able to stand tall, rather than stoop. We did have chats, to help them deal with it - other peoples' comments etc.

One has gone on to make the National Netball Team; she was a fantastic athlete, breaking many school records in her time.
