Went for another test on my eyes the morning. The Ophthalmologist asked me what I could see on the screen to which I replied "nothing". While carrying on writing he asked if I was sure I couldn't see anything and I said yes at which point he turned around and spotted he hadn't turned the screen light on! rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Thing is in a year you'll find them easy or at least you won't be scared of attempting other pieces of the same standard!!! ohmy.gif And then what a sense of achievement !!

That's what's happened to me over the last year.... now "I'm just a girl who cain't say no!" (clarinet wise anyway smile.gif )

The Weber, yes....... Spring has some to fit in too.
Looking at other stuff I have it looks like lots of notes (and all getting close together and friendly with each other) is not going to be uncommon.....

Why do some animals have names for boys and girls which are different to animal names, but some don't?

Examples to make it clear:
Pigs are collectively pigs. A girl pig is a sow, a boy pig is a boar. All fine and clear.

Ducks are collectively ducks. A girl duck is a duck, a boy duck is a drake. So if you say 'a duck', you might mean a girl one, or you might mean a generic one.

Dogs are collectively dogs. A girl dog is a b!tch, a boy dog is a dog. So 'a dog' might mean a boy or a generic canine.

Cattle are collectively cattle, but usually called cows. You don't say 'oh there's a cattle in that field', you say 'there's a cow in that field'. But a cow is a girl-cattle, a boy-cattle is a bull.

Such are the things I am wondering this morning...

I'm actually quite shocked/upset... a friend of mine decided she needed to have an op done (and has now had the procedure completed) on her mammaries for "confidence", when she already looked absolutely fine and in proportion beforehand.

I really don't get it, blokes would trip over themselves for someone like her even before the maiming, but she never realises/accepts it sad.gif

Even worse is the fact that another of my female friends wants to do the same, but she has a perfect figure already IMO... Gah!

agree.gif no offence to anybody, but I don't get the point of having "chest enhancement" surgery-surely they just get in the way?! :

I had chest de-enhancement surgery many years ago - that is I had quite a lot chpped off the left side on account of a growth. Then I got some more cut off in France because the offending object grew back and as no one was sure if it was cancerous or not (some medical student even wrote a thesis on its rarity) they thought they had better get it out. The result is that I am now asymmetric! I don't care. I'm just gald to be alive and for the record I wouldn't mind too much if they cut both sides right off! I could then be a bilateral Amazon.

The trouble with coincidence, is that you only notice it when events coincide. Such confluence of events is however so very much outnumbered by those events which do not coincide, thereby raising no sense of alarm or creepiness.

How many times have you thought about someone/something and nothing more come of it? That nothing comes of it, doesn't register because it's the norm.

Stand in a room and ask someone to point out something symmetrical and they'll look for any sort of 'butterfly' type configuration they can find. Point to a blank wall though and they'd look at you puzzled - just as you may well be now! - but a truly homogeneous blank wall represents countless (mathematical) symmetries, not merely the two that make a special case, the two that stand out.

Yep. One thing I've noticed with these "enhancements" as well, is that the extra "confidence" gained can change a person beyond recognition. I knew one person that'd had it done a few years ago, the surgeon seems to have accidentally installed a load of arrogance to go with the silicone! The whole "if you've got it, flaunt it" thing makes some lose a bit of self-respect, I think.
