Although the vowels are not in order! I suppose that would be too much to ask? unsure.gif

There isn't a Tube station with all the vowels in the correct order, sadly...

Wonder if there's a National Rail station which does?...

If there is, it might be worth working backwards by securing the last two vowels first? Try '******* South' for example.

I have no intention of dwelling upon this task! However, there are bound to be some train fanatics who could no doubt call to mind a myriad of station names. I would have to look them all up, which would, I suggest, rather go against the spirit of adventure! biggrin.gif
fsharpminor
Every train station name in the country comes up (for scrolling) on my iPhone when I do 'Plan a Journey' on the National Rail App. But methinks it will still take ages to scroll through the lot !

Ah , found two, but the vowels arent in the right order

BEAULIEU ROAD
BECKENHAM JUNCTION

Will continue to look for more during the day.

Later edit, its clear there are loads.....
BESCOT STADIUM
BIRKENHEAD HAMILTON SQUARE
BLAENAU FFESTINIOG
BOXHILL AND WESTHUMBLE
BURLEY IN WHARFEDALE

Well thats all the A's and B's done, I will let you know if I fnd one with the vowels in the right order, but there are going to be so many just containing the 5 vowels, that I'll stop reporting those now.

Later edit, well Ive found CALEDONIAN ROAD AND BARNSBURY - it does contain them in order , but with some extra ones added!
LIVERPOOL SOUTH PARKWAY and STANSTED MOUNTFITCHET have also got them all present.

Later later edit - been through the lot, and I dont think there is one with them in right order and with no others.

PS there are only 3 stations beginning with V and 5 beginning with J. None beginning with X

There are so many flags out today to celebrate Indonesian Independence Day - I can't look in any direction without spotting a fluttering piece of red and white material. Reminds me of England during the World Cup - except that here they are actually celebrating a concrete victory, rather than just hoping in vain! wink.gif

Caledonian Road and Barnsbury is as near as we'll get then. Might be worth remembering for pub quizzes! biggrin.gif

That'll do nicely, I'm sure.

Spending one hour practising a Bach fugue, rather than searching for stations, did turn out to be more fruitful for me then! biggrin.gif

Thanks, f#m! smile.gif

I tried to search for ******* South but nothing came up, actually there weren't as many of that type as you might think.

I have voles in my garden. Though that might be past tense as I only found this out when I heard if squeeking when caught by my neighbours cat. That was a present I didn't appreciate - the cat was so so pleased with itself.
Aquarelle
We had voles. Definitely past tense because the cats have stopped bringing them in so I suppose they have decimated them. They are slower movers than mice - at their peril. We saved a few but most were brought home dead. Sad, but I can't make the cats understand that I would prefer them not to try to catch anything that moves.

I used to be a sucker for wine gums as a kid! biggrin.gif I always bought them by the quarter from the sweet-shop though, not in some pre-packed plastic monstrosity.

The only trouble is, I didn't (and still don't) care for the black ones, which I gather is the opposite of many, if not most, wine gum lovers.

Orange, Green, Yellow, Red then Black would be my order of preference. Usually, the only ones I can get hold of these days are those yellow pre-packs and well, ...... they just don't taste the same. sad.gif

For some reason all along the pavement there are mini paintings of the road markings on the road next to it ... the mind boggles!

And while I was typing this I realised why I don't use YouTube much - looked up something for a friend, left the tab open and it ate nearly all my processing power >_>

Me too! However, I have watched the US series of The Apprentice - it's a slightly different animal to the UK version, no doubt constrained to fit in with the torrent of commercials that pepper US TV. Asked to choose though, the UK version would win hands down - it's much more geared to the tasks than rival personalities and back-biting.

I agree : gearing the programme to the tasks works so much better, and the various personalities still manage to shine through. Plus there is a certain aura about Lord Sugar that Donald Trump, for me, just doesn't have. It would be a little scary to go into a boardroom with Lord Sugar at the table.
