I left the dogs in the sitting room for ten minutes and came back to find my 10year old whippet 'Zinzin' lying on the hearthrug thoroughly enjoying herself with a block of rosin!!!! ohmy.gif

Well, hardly a block as she had shattered it into millions of pieces and was sucking a bit like it was barley-sugar!! Foul beast.. but she's known to chew small pieces of coal. What on earth could smell tasty about rosin to a dog?????? She was so utterly pleased with herself but the pieces were spread everywhere mad.gif

AND I'd just spent £18 on some Liebenzeller Gold....

but thankfully it was tucked away safely in my case and this was a cheaper one.

Still, I liked it.

I did once find my smallest dog tucked up in my violin case (sitting on the sofa) while I was doing my practice but she doesn't shed much so it wasn't full of hair thankfully tongue.gif

Anyone else had any violinny mishaps with hairy monsters?

What a wonderful story - all I can claim is the cat sitting on my shoulders while I play the piano - doesn't make for good posture

No violin tales, but with a piano pupil due to arrive one evening I discovered that my new kitten had wee-ed on her new music.

My sister's rabbit nibbled a hole in a piece of music once, and fortunately missed all the notes, so it was not as bad as it could have been laugh.gif

I'm having visions of crotchets with their 'middles' nibbled out and suddenly they are minims... biggrin.gif

My hamster went up my bassoon and it got stuck half way down and couldnt turn round because of the taper. unsure.gif

And I'm having visions of Malone puffing away on her bassoon, wondering why it sounds all fuzzy biggrin.gif How did you get it out?

My rabbit shredded some of my music once. I probably shouldn't have left it on the living room floor, but it obviously wasn't to his liking.
Lottie, when my dog was a puppy I found him stowed away in the side pocket of my violin case biggrin.gif.

Dogs are daft - but so loveable! wub.gif

One of my collegues is a keen angler. His terrier leapt up and swallowed a fish hook as he was casting off - unfortunately said dog needed an operation to retrieve it from her stomach ill.gif

Has it stopped her from swallowing non-edible objects? Of course not......

Not musical or to do with strings....but my 4 month old puppy chewed up my mobile phone charger last week sad.gif I was not impressed...particularly as I was fast running out of charge...

My mum was trying to tell me about my dog the other day saying hes got pac mentality but atfirst I thought she was saying pacman mentality but she said he probably has that too, I put a snail on my garden wall once cause I'd plucked it of a chair and woops... *crunch crunch crunch*

My cat loves to walk on my piano cause she knows it annoys me and gets my attention when I ignore her

Here are some photos of our cat, Bicky, in The Light Beat's drum accessories holdall. She is lying on all the hard bits of the drum kit! Mind you, she has also slept in a container on top of a pin cushion!

Do not disturb

A nice thing occurred today: I was practicing in front of the fireplace and usually the dogs elect to shoot off to the kitchen at the other end of the house.. but today, not one, but four of my six dogs decided to stay in the room with me, sprawled lazily all over the furniture, and all appeared to be enjoying the show.

Is my playing improving? Am I possibly starting to sound less like a strangled cat? Or was it just the warmest room in the house. At one point the labrador was lying across my foot which may, or may not, have been a ploy to stop me playing. And the littlest one settled herself into my open case again tongue.gif

Come feeding time they all start to press against my legs until I overbalance so I'm forced to stop and go and fill their dishes laugh.gif (left over roast chicken with kibble - which usually leads to an interesting evening of farts which I'll miss because I'm off out to my lesson.... rolleyes.gif laugh.gif party1.gif )

This isn't really music-related, but once, my friend's rabbit completely ate her science GCSE coursework, the annoying thing was that the teacher wouldn't believe her because it sounded sooooo stupid lol. Also, one of her paintings for art had a huge chunk out of the corner laugh.gif

we have mice visitors - have just relocated one! One ate my blues scales sheet and another ate a hole in my best tablecloth - right next to a bowl of fruit. mad.gif

What a lovely photo, Lottie. smile.gif Can you have a camera handy when your "littlest" one gets into your violin case again? None of them look very little to me - how does he/she fit in?

I love your photo too Lottie smile.gif How did you manage to get them to pose like that? My dogs never stay still for long enough.

They remind me of those meerkats that stand upright whilst on guard.

Superglue velcro pads to their feet and bums then hold up a live kitty laugh.gif

(alternatives include shouting 'BUNNIES' at the top of your voice for that wide-eyed-attentive look ph34r.gif )
